A Visit to the Renishaw Hall Gardens in Derbyshire, UK

It was the perfect day to visit the Italianate gardens today at Renishaw Hall.

The gardens were put together by Sir George Sitwell, 4th Baronet in the late 19th Century. He was the great-grandfather to Alexandra Sitwell who now owns the hall. Apparently, Sir George was a bit on the eccentric side.

We had an interesting walk around the gardens. They were really well looked after with great looking topiary hedges, lawns and full of lovely plants and flowers. Some seats to enjoy the views as well.

I think the koi carp were expecting me to feed them as they followed me around the lily pond.

We found some interesting statues in the garden, including the moose!

The hall also has its own vineyard. Their award-winning wines were on sale in the Visitor Centre and Cafe.

We didn't see everything as it got too hot, so it's definitely a place to revisit as there are lakes to explore.
