Last night I was walking around the San Nicolas neighborhood and decided to take some pictures while passing by the Luna Park stadium. On another occasion I had already dedicated a post about this place mentioning that it is a show center where national and international events of musical groups take place. However, in the beginning it was used for sporting events but over the years it has acquired other uses.

It is or was also used for political purposes where events belonging to the German National Socialist regime were held, as well as weddings of celebrities in sports as was the case of footballer Diego Armando Maradona. It is one of the most important stadiums of the city and a very photographed place by artists and photographers as well as by tourists who come every year.

I took different shots of the place from different angles to achieve interesting perspectives taking advantage of the lighting of the front and its main sign that bears the name. The screen with visual advertising gave me light reflections that allowed me to make an interesting combination, at least for me.

Ayer en la noche estuve caminando por el barrio San Nicolás y decidí tomar algunas fotos mientras pasaba por el estadio Luna Park. Ya en otra ocasión había dedicado un post sobre este lugar mencionando que es un centro de espectáculos dónde se realizan eventos nacionales e internacionales de agrupaciones musicales. Sin embargo en un principio su uso era destinado a eventos deportivos pero a través de los años fue adquiriendo otros usos.

Es o fue usado también para fines políticos dónde se desarrollaron eventos pertenecientes al régimen nacional socialista alemán, así como también casamientos de celebridades en el deporte como lo fue el caso del futbolista Diego Armando Maradona. Es uno de los estadios más importantes de la ciudad y un lugar muy fotografiado por los artistas y fotógrafos así como también por los turistas que vienen cada año.

Realicé distintas tomas del lugar desde diferentes ángulos para lograr perspectivas interesantes aprovechando la iluminación del frente y de su letrero principal que lleva el nombre. La pantalla con publicidad visual me obsequió reflejos de luz que me permitió hacer una combinación interesante al menos para mí.

Afterwards, I walked a couple of meters until I reached the Plaza de Mayo where I decided to take some pictures of the pink house, also taking advantage of the illumination there. Usually as I walk around the city I consider taking pictures of structures or buildings so that I can find better shots than the ones I have taken before.

In this way I also take advantage of the type of light that is there at the moment at different times trying to hunt for good moments so I can make better compositions in the images. In Plaza Mayo there is a small pyramid dedicated to the revolution that took place in 1800 and it is located right in front of the pink house.

I took the opportunity to take some pictures also because of the tones it offered me at that moment.

Posteriormente hice un par de metros hasta llegar a la plaza de mayo donde decidí tomar algunas fotos de la casa rosada aprovechando también la iluminación que hay en ella. Habitualmente mientras camino por la ciudad considero tomar fotos de estructuras o edificios de modo que pueda encontrar mejores tomas que las que he hecho anteriormente.

De este modo también aprovecho el tipo de luz que hay en el momento en distintos horarios tratando de cazar buenos momentos y así poder hacer mejores composiciones en las imágenes. En la plaza mayo se encuentra una pequeña pirámide dedicada a la revolución que se llevó a cabo en 1800 y se encuentra ubicado justo en frente de la casa rosada.

Aproveche de tomar algunas fotos también por los tonos que me ofrecía en ese momento.

Finally, I would like to share a bonus of three photos also taken from the Plaza de Mayo, which are of the building of the Uruguayan-Argentinean bank and the historic Buenos Aires' cabildo. The latter currently functions as a museum and recently opened its doors for free visits by residents and tourists.
