Let's see what's been keeping me busy lately... A little tour around one of the main workshops of the Buenos Aires subway where the old trains that are no longer running are parked. I wanted to take some pictures while I was doing one of my tasks, as I mentioned before this is my workplace.
On the right side you can see the first trains, the Le Brugeoise.... They were wooden trains that ran for the first time since the inauguration of the subway, we are talking about the year 1913.
Veamos que es lo que me ha mantenido ocupado últimamente... Un pequeño recorrido por uno de los talleres principales del subterráneo de Buenos Aires dónde se encuentran estacionados los antiguos trenes que ya no están en circulación. Quise tomar algunas fotos mientras hacía una de mis tareas, cómo ya he mencionado anteriormente este es mi lugar de trabajo.
Del lado derecho se puede observar los primeros trenes, se trata del Le Brugeoise... Fueron trenes de madera que circularon por primera vez desde la inauguración del subterráneo, estamos hablando del año 1913.
There are also a lot of FIAT trains that recently left the tracks and are not working either. Nowadays there are much more modern trains and these are kept in this workshop as a kind of museum.
It is worth mentioning that it really works as a museum from time to time, and they give access to the public so that they can appreciate these historic vehicles that have been transporting passengers in the city of Buenos Aires for almost 100 years.
También se encuentran muchísimos trenes FIAT que hace poco salieron de las vías y tampoco están trabajando. En la actualidad hay trenes muchos más modernos y estos quedaron en este taller como una especie de museo.
Cabe destacar que realmente si funciona como un museo cada cierto tiempo, y le dan acceso al público para que puedan apreciar estos vehículos históricos que a los largo de casi 100 años han estado transportando pasajeros en la ciudad de Buenos Aires.
In addition, among these trains there is also other machinery that is used to make movements of these trains and other special jobs, a kind of crane, let's say.
My intention in portraying these amazing vehicles is to be able to share a piece of the history of the subway but also in photographic aspects. I was struck by the light that entered these spaces and I decided to take some pictures trying to give a cinematic touch to these images with these tones 🙂
Además entre estos trenes también se encuentra otra maquinaria que se utiliza para hacer movimientos de estos trenes y otros trabajos especiales, una especie de grúa, digamos.
Mi intención al retratar estos asombrosos vehículos es poder compartir un pedazo de la historia del subterráneo pero también en aspectos fotográficos. Me llamo mucho la atención de la luz que entraba en estos espacios y decidí hacer algunas fotos intentando además, dar un toque cinematográfico a estás imágenes con estos tonos 🙂
