Hace algunos meses, hice un viaje familiar a la península de Icacos, en Matanzas, Cuba. Ahí se encuentra la icónica playa de Varadero, conocida internacionalmente por sus aguas cristalinas y su arena limpia y fina.
Durante mi estancia en el lugar, una de las cosas que me gustaba hacer era ir a ver el atardecer. A estas horas, aproximadamente 60 minutos antes de la caída del sol, todavía podíamos ver la presencia de, en su mayoría, turistas que eligieron vacacionar en este lugar.
El mar no estaba en calma ese día; unas pequeñas olas hacían que se pudiera ver fácilmente el contraste entre la arena y el agua. La luz se filtraba entre las nubes y abrazaba en un tono cálido a todo el paisaje.
La tranquilidad y la paz del lugar se unían a la que de por sí siempre me ha dado unir la fotografía al mar. Ese día traje conmigo intencionalmente la cámara fotográfica. Quería fotografiar para después poder compartir con todos ustedes lo que mis ojos estaban viendo. Con cuidado sujeté mi cámara con la correa a la mano y empecé a caminar.
Solo me preocupaba la arena y las microgotas de agua provenientes del mar, las cuales pueden dañar el equipo fotográfico. Para esto usé un filtro polarizador, que cumpliría dos funciones: una, y la más importante, era proteger el lente u objetivo; y la segunda, me permitiría lograr unos tonos de azules más vibrantes gracias a las características propias de este filtro.
Después de caminar unos minutos y de dejar reposar en el ordenador las fotografías, hoy se las comparto a todos ustedes esperando que se encuentren bien y que las disfruten.

A few months ago, I took a family trip to the Icacos Peninsula in Matanzas, Cuba. There you will find the iconic Varadero Beach, known internationally for its crystal clear waters and clean, fine sand.
During my stay in the place, one of the things I liked to do was go to see the sunset. At these hours, approximately 60 minutes before the sun set, we could still see the presence of, mostly, tourists who chose to vacation in this place.
The sea was not calm that day; small waves made it easy to see the contrast between the sand and the water. The light filtered through the clouds and embraced the landscape in a warm tone.
The tranquility and peace of the place joined the one that has always given me to join photography with the sea. That day I intentionally brought the camera with me. I wanted to photograph and then share with all of you what my eyes were seeing. I carefully held my camera with the strap in my hand and started walking.
I was only worried about the sand and the microdrops of water from the sea, which can damage the camera equipment. For this I used a polarizing filter, which would fulfill two functions: one, and the most important, was to protect the lens or objective; and the second, it would allow me to achieve some more vibrant blue tones thanks to the characteristics of this filter.
After walking a few minutes and resting the photographs on the computer, today I share them with all of you hoping that you are well and that you enjoy them.
