Vene<uela es un país prolífico en todo lo referido a mitos y leyendas, los pueblos de la costa adoptaron al San Juan de los católicos y lo hicieron propio, al migrar dento de Venezuela, los habitantes de estas costas trajeron consigo sus mitos y rituales. Es así que cada año se realiza este peregrinar por las calles de San Agustín, un barrio con fuerte influencia musical y artística, de donde han salido grandes músicos y gente insigne.

Los asistentes bailan al ritmo de los tambores, haciendo promesas al santo y pidiendo deseos. yo no soy religiosa, así que no entiendo mucho el ritual, pero si puedo decir que es una fiesta hermosa donde me sentí arropada por la multitud.
Todos los líderes de la zona se unen para exponer danzas y cánticos, bebidas alcólicas y mucha comunión, tanto que provoca el llanto contemplar el fervor de estas personas asistiendo cada año a tributar su compromiso con el santo dador de favores y representante de la comunidad afro de Venezuela.
Venezuela is a prolific country in everything related to myths and legends, the people of the coast adopted the San Juan of the Catholics and made it their own, when they migrated to Venezuela, the inhabitants of these coasts brought with them their myths and rituals. The attendees dance to the rhythm of the drums, making promises to the saint and making wishes. I am not religious, so I don't understand much of the ritual, but I can say that it is a beautiful celebration where I felt surrounded by the crowd.
All the leaders of the area join together to exhibit dances and chants, alcoholic drinks and a lot of communion, so much that it makes you cry to contemplate the fervor of these people attending every year to pay their commitment to the saint, giver of favors and representative of the Afro community of Venezuela.
