I came across this lovely little scene while walking the massive gardens at Pena Palace. Situated on the southern, Atlantic coastline of Portugal, Pena Palace is just an hour, or so, drive from Lisbon.
Once the home of the King of Portugal, Pena Palace is now a museum, with the splendor of the gardens preserved as a National Park.
I found this sturdy fern standing in a quiet pool of lilypad and leaf covered water. Not only was it enduring the submersion, it seemed to rather enjoy it...
Looking up at the Palace from the gardens below, the bright hues of the Palace are accentuated by the overwhelming green of the park below.
