National Motor Museum, Birdwood, Australia

Where else might you see something that was once used in a Madmax movie?
Well in Australia!

This one here from Beyond Thunderdome, that happened to be driven by Angry Anderson and Tina Turner!
The info card says it's based on a Ford F1-100 pickup.

IMGP8309.JPG

An orange light, pop up headlights and a white air intake.

IMGP8310.JPG

With flowing aerodynamic lines to match.

IMGP8308.JPG

And it happens to be a rare Ferrari 512BB.
Known as the Berlinetta Boxer with the numbering meaning 5ltr 12cylinder. In the case in a Flat arrangement.

Behind the Ferrari happens to be a supercar from another Italian marque, in this case, Lamborgini with the Diablo.

IMGP8311.JPG

This one being a late model, which you can tell by the use of Nissan 300ZX lights. Now a little story, the carbon strip, something that apparently costs around £2000 to replace, well it's there for one reason only. To hide the Nissan logo that's on the top left corner of that light!

IMGP8320.JPG

Continuing with the Italian sportscar theme, we have this pristine 308GTB in a stunning blue colour . Compared to the 512BB this one comes with a 3ltr V8 hence the naming, Ferrari also made a 208 version with a 2ltr as well.

Slowing things down a bit, with this racing red Holden Piazza, also known as the Isuzu Piazza in other markets is another rare sports coupe.

IMGP8312.JPG

And slowing things down a lot more now! with this Dodge 108f Ute from the states.

IMGP8318.JPG

Chrysler had their own operation in Australia and from that came the Valient, in which case this one was used for track racing.

IMGP8321.JPG

While British maker Layland also had their own unique operation too in this case with the Layland P76, with this one being the Force 7V (unlike Ferrari, it has no link to the engine!) with a V8 fitted.

IMGP8336.JPG

Fiat clearly not wanting to miss out on the action too imported their 130 Coupe.

IMGP8342.JPG

Although one of the standouts might have to be this 1949 MG TC in a sort of custard yellow colour! Not as powerful as the prior cars, but likely a lot more fun? 😉

IMGP8353.JPG

Now finally the prize of the collection, an original Honda Civic covered in all the protest stickers that could be found! Bumper dents included 😂
