Mr. Helios in nature (+visual gallery of 15 photos)

In the last post I mentioned that I had several lenses with me and one of them was a Helios 44-2 with an inverted front glass. Today I will pay a little more attention to it than to other options.

The more I shoot them, the more I like him. You can shoot a standard landscape or a close-up with a modern lens. You will get a classic clear picture with good detail. This visual image is unambiguous, the brain has nothing to work on. The only thing that can attract him is unusual colors or shapes.

Another thing is when you see a picture and don't quite understand what is depicted on it. Objects and images are only guessed, there is no strict certainty, but there is room for your imagination. If you take your time and scroll through one photo after another, but look at the image... you may see something unusual.

This version of Helios gives some clarity in the middle of the frame and bizarrely blurs the periphery. Due to this, you can get the effect of a tunnel or portal.

For example, you are in a solid green forest. A normal photo will look like...a little boring, just a lot of greenery. You need to find an additional interesting object. But Helios creates such objects himself ...

In the last two photos, the same place was taken, but with focusing at different distances. As you can see, the result is also different.

If you have a specific object and you want to highlight it, Mr. Helios is also at your service.

This series can be called portals. A portal to the world of water, a portal to the forest, a portal to anywhere...

But it's time to go to the riverbank. Inhale the fragrance of the meadow, hear the buzzing of bees and bumblebees and admire the bends of the river.

This river is beautiful in itself and ordinary shots would also be interesting. But Mr. Helios makes them more mysterious. This is another portal to another reality.

The last two photos were taken with a different lens. This is a homemade lens from a slide projector lens. He has his own characteristics and his own character.
