A Colorful Havana Like Never Before

For some reason this girl has made me see my city in a more colorful and cheerful way. Maybe it's because she is like that and, combined with the background that accompanies her in each photo, she generates those feelings in me. It was precisely her attitude and good vibes that allowed me to explore new ideas in my sessions, new poses, a better way of using angles and perspectives and we even discovered new spots where we achieved excellent shots that we loved.

This time we started at one of my favorite places, the restaurant “Al Carbon”, located in this classic colonial style house and that giant Cuban flag that is an unparalleled attraction. Both the first photos and the adjoining street where she appears walking, are in the same place.

From here we moved to a nearby neighborhood called Loma del Angel, where we discovered a coffee shop that has gained fame because its logo, although not identical, reminds us of the famous Starbucks chain. Its Cuban variant is called Starcafe and we took advantage of its exterior decoration, where they very kindly allowed us to sit down to continue the session.

Further along the road we approached the oldest part of Old Havana, which we continued to use in a very creative and colorful way. All along Cuarteles Street until we reach the world-famous bar-restaurant La Bodeguita del Medio, birthplace of the mojito, one of this country's signature cocktails.

Finally, we arrive at the historic center, which is the oldest and most colonial part, where Havana was founded a little more than 500 years ago. This square is specifically La Catedral, one of the first public spaces in Cuba where merchants of all kinds used to congregate.

I hope you enjoyed the trip as much as the photos, just as much as we did. It was a truly wonderful experience for me as a photographer.

Enjoy!
