My brand new music production set-up that I just built (again) with the same recycled wood from last time :)

New Vache Morte studio 2022

Yoooo, I did it again. What I am talking about? I built my home studio for a second time this year. It was not planned this way it just happened and I rolled with it. I was born in Québec and lived most of my adulthood in Montreal which I love and it's a beautiful city. But over the last 2 years the Government went totally crazy and I felt obligated to give them the finger deep in their stupid a__ because they are pure evil and my opinion is based on fact.

June 2021 I was pretty fed up and not really interested to wear a diaper on my face to practice my work as a video/tv director. Don't mention the HIV injection... not happening. So I closed my production studio that I was running like a chief on my own for the last 10 years. It looked like this back then (2015):

and then I brought my shit back home and built a little music room in my apartment and I did a post about it (June 2021) you can read it here:

Now back to the present. I just finished the new build and I am pretty happy with the layout. I used the exact same old recycled wood from last time which is really funny to me. I see real audio pros buying a 20000$ + desk to record music that sucks. Not my style. All custom built with recycled wood only. I DIDN'T BUY ANYTHING for this project, only a few cables and that's it.

This is my control position where I have access to everything, mixer, sound card, computer and a bunch of synths.

This is my circuit bent toy section and other curiosities.

My 88 keys midi controller piano that I use often.

My mics are now hooked directly into the looper so I will be able to add acoustic instruments in my next improv recordings.

Behind me are a few string instruments and the fretless bass that I use on almost all my tracks.

I made the whole acoustic treatment of the room myself and decided after a few tests to stack my 2 pairs of Adam F7 speakers like so, on each side. Sounds really immersive.

Don't look under the desk 👀

and finally the biggest improvement for my inspiration I have a window!!!!
Today it's a bit gray but I am really happy to have a view that will allow me to watch the trees changing colors everyday.

Stay tuned because I didn't even start yet. Thanks for reading.
