Tribute to the best rock bands, today is: "Pink Floyd"

UFF this is a very very difficult post since the Pink Floyd group is the longest-lived, having been at the forefront since 1967 until 2014, that is, 47 years creating music. They are the grandparents of rock.

First stage (1965-1968)

  1. Surreal and abstract is how I can classify the beginning of the band. Syd Barrett is the creator of their first album called "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" that album contained the songs
  • Astronomy Domine
  • Lucifer Sam
  • Matilda Mother
  • Flaming
  • The Gnome
  • Interstellar
  • Overdrive
  • Bik

Classic era (1968-1985):

  • David Gilmour joins the band and Barrett leaves due to problems with alcohol and his nightly revelry. Following this event, Roger Waters begins to write the lyrics for almost all of the group's songs and of course the style changes to more progressive and conceptual. During those years, the album that stands out the most is "The Dark Side of the Moon" with songs like Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979).

Post-Waters period (1985-1994)

  • Waters left the group and Gilmour took over the reins of the band with albums such as A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994). Although they were still successful, the music was less conceptual and more atmospheric, focusing on musical virtuosity and less on political and philosophical messages.

Musical experimentation

  • They introduce tape loops, voice recordings and sound effects into their songs as you can hear on The Wall (1979) and songs like "Comfortably Numb" and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" reflect this as well.

Albums that launched him

  • The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975) this was made to pay great tribute to Syd Barrett, and The Wall (1979) which is the most iconic album of the group, what's more I have this album and it is a huge gatefold that belonged to my father.

According to a very prestigious magazine:

Pink Floyd were more than just a rock band; they were artists who used music as a medium to explore profound themes of human existence, society and politics. Their impact on music, culture and art is immense, and their ability to connect with the most complex human emotions has made them one of the most important and influential bands of all time.

Well, as I always say at the end of my posts, tomorrow more and better. Good night, gentlemen.
