Yesterday, like all normal people, I went to bed early in order to have a good night's sleep and new strength, to start the new week cheerfully. But it wasn’t there, at first I tossed and turned in bed, then I began to sort out all sorts of stories from my life in my head, and then I looked at my watch and realized that I had been lying like this for a little more than an hour and didn’t want to sleep at all. I lay in bed for about an hour more because it was great for me to just lie and remember the bright moments of my life, the people with whom I did some crazy things and had a cool time when we hung out from dawn to dusk, positive moments and hundreds of sincere smiles.
How awesome it is to look back and remember what happened to me, in my youth life was like a waterfall, and with age it slowly became like a calm river, with its own history and already more or less modeled inner world.
As a result, I could not fall asleep, all these memories, like an avalanche, brought down on me a surge of some kind of emotions that I had to get out of bed, make myself a cup of tea and sit down at the computer in order to convert all my emotions into music, I opened my FL -Studio, turned on the piano and began to pick up chords that would fall into the mood of my memories. This may sound confusing, but it's hard for me to describe how it works otherwise, on an instinctive level, I guess. 😀
About Track & WIP: 🔊
As I said above, I started picking up chords on the piano, I wanted something that sounded fun and romantic. After I found the right chords, I started writing the melody on the pianoforte, I immediately took it two octaves higher to add subtlety to the sound of the main melody, so that the sound was gentle and clear. I made both pianos in the Nexus modulator, and also did a little post-processing!

The project itself turned out to be rather big, both in session mode and on the mixer. Below is a screenshot of the project in Fl-Studio 20.
By the way, the project title of the track is - My First Love, there is such a story in my memories, so it is symbolic for this track.

In total, in the track I used 2 synthesizers, of which three tracks are Nexus, and 6 tracks are synth Massive. In the nexus, as I said, I made piano chords and a melody. As for the Massive, I did all the bass parts on it and also 2 tracks is an 8-bit part (in the pit). A total of 8 patterns with synths were released, each of which was processed in the mixer. I tried to make a romantic track, and what would it be danceable. When I started working on the rhythmic pattern, I immediately realized that there was no place for a straight kick and made a broken kick, even though the track has only 110 bpm due to the abundance of percussion and such a crushed bass, it seems to be faster than its speed. I took the most old-school drum sounds I could find, something that sounded dynamic, something that made you want to tap your foot in time with the music.
I don’t know how cool the idea was to add an 👾 8-bit part to this track, I was just scrolling through the sound libraries in Massive and came across presets with 8-bit and decided to try to duplicate the piano melody on a channel with 8-bit sounds, it turned out cool, I I decided to add one more to break up the pit and make a cool drop before entering the climactic part of the track, I'm very interested in your opinion on this matter, how do you think the place of the 8-bit part of the track in the overall composition or should I remove this part from the track ? Let me know if you like it or not. It is important!
It seems that we skimmed over the technical issues superficially, so I'll move on to my favorite part - thinking out loud.
Thinking Out Loud...
Around the time that I was thinking about today, it was certainly one of the most enjoyable years of my life, buzzing time and the music then I made completely different, it was more fun and positive, like this track that I'm sharing with you today. Then in my life there were many colorful ideas for music. Especially in the summer, since I live on a peninsula and in the summer I have not one sea, but two, I really enjoy making music on summer days, you can write a track and go to the beach with it, lie on the sand to the music that you made a couple of hours ago , - Bliss! It fills me with feelings and this track in my memory will be associated with this summer mood and this day. It works, I know it!
Once my old friend asked me, - Paul, could you make an audio portrait of a person? I was taken aback then, I think how it is possible to convey some image through sound. We talked about this for a long time, and even after some time we returned to this again, because the question was, to put it mildly, unrealistic, but at the same time it was interesting and I would like to delve into it in order to somehow try answer this question. It's been 15 years since then and I still think about it haha. 🙃
The fact that music can express feelings or mood, share some inner experiences or emotions is a fact! I actually do music for this, it’s a way for me to convey my feelings to other people through my music, but audio portraits are still something incomprehensible and inexplicable to me, but there’s something in it, damn it!
What do you think about this? Is it possible to convey an image with the help of sound?

And so I complete my post, I managed to sleep for about 30 minutes today, but I don’t feel weak and don’t want to waste the day, especially since the weather is very sunny today and I’ll get dressed, go outside, turn on my favorite playlist with music and go for a walk along the sea , most likely I will listen to this track and get high in the sun under this light cool sea breeze, I will walk and think about everything.
