Hey there, dear Hivers, Im back again with a new blog. This show was presented on May 30, 2024. This was the first show that I had, and I really miss this show, and I will share with you what show it is and what is my experience.
Last May 2024, our instructor decided that our final exam would be a show. Its a competition by 11 other sections, 8 sections of hospitality management, and 3 sections in tourism. We were so shocked because the instruction is so late to announce; our instructor announced it on April 29 I guess, and so we need to perform it on May 30 so we have a small time to practice it. The show must be performed by 3 singers and 15 dancers, but since there are so many singers, we decided to make it 6 even though the mic was only 4, so that's not that hard for the singers.
During the practice, we, the singers, didn't memorize yet the song, but we really tried our best to memorize it because it is needed. Its May 20, but we didn't practice with the dancers yet because we still don't memorize the song, but the dancers already know the song but it's not yet finished. Thankfully, our dancers were so dedicated to this performance because they are always at practice.
We are so blessed because we have a choreographer classmate, so we can practice the dance nicely, and she can also teach those dancers immediately, and for singers, she can also know where we would locate.
On the day of the event, we have a blocking. The blocking was late because the venue is used, so we don't have a choice but to have a blocking on the day of the event. And while waiting, we apply make-up and also have a hairstyle so that we are already ready and won't panic when it's time for the event. The singers are the stars of the night, so they are the first to finish make-up and hairstyle. This time I was so nervous because there was one song that I couldn't timming.
So at 7 PM the program was started, and we are the 9th presenter. I was so nervous because of the song that I couldn't timming, but on the blocking time I already timmed it. During the performance, I was so disappointed because of that one song, but they said it was like I didn't have a mistake. And they also said that the whole performance was good and presented well.
After the all-performance there is an announcement of winners, we won't expect anything because of the mistake that we made, and only 3 winners: 2nd runner-up, 1st runner-up, and then the Champion. Among the 11 contingents, we really didn't expect to win because the other performance was good. And luckily, we made it, we own the 2nd runner-up. Our choreographer was disappointed, but at least we won the 2nd runner-up and have a high grade.
I sincerely hope we can play as a single section again since this was the greatest performance ever and will never be forgotten.
