Hace una semana se oficializó el regreso de Linkin Park, banda que irrumpió en el mundo del rock en el 2000 y que de manera continua se mantuvo en lo alto por 17 años, todo gracias a fieles fans que consiguieron un refugio en muchas de sus canciones; lamentablemente en el año 2017, quienes crecieron y admiraron la banda por mucho tiempo recibieron un duro golpe con el fallecimiento de Chester Bennington y justamente ese trágico evento es una parte importante en esta publicación que comparto con ustedes porque cada cierto tiempo, en el mundo de la música, preferiblemente en el mundo del Rock, hay sucesos que rompen la zona de confort tanto de fans, familia y por supuesto, de una banda.

Esta es la otra y gran parte o tema de esta publicación la cual es la gran decisión de los integrantes sobrevivientes de una tragedia de seguir adelante con un proyecto que fue exitoso y del cual todavía creen que pueden recuperar su posición en el mundo de la música; está necesidad impulsada por las ganas de seguir creando música, de seguir conectando con los fans y de por supuesto generar dinero, lo han realizado un sin número de bandas musicales en la historia y nuevamente debo enfocarme en el Rock porque está banda pertenece a ese género el cual he seguido desde hace ya mucho tiempo y por eso desde mi punto de vista como fan, no tanto de Linkin Park, sino del Rock en sí, he presenciado como bandas toman la decisión de seguir o de tan solo desaparecer.
En vida he visto como la tragedia irrumpe en este estilo musical y es que ser adolescente en los 90’, fue en esa época o en un tiempo después, ver como músicos a quien admiraba sucumbir a vicios o a demonios internos, lo cual puso fin a cada una de sus vidas y lo que hizo en mí fue generar incógnitas como por ejemplo preguntarme “¿Qué música haría en esta época?” O afirmaciones como “Nadie cantará como lo hacía él”; son cosas que repetido varias veces y con la muerte de Chester, pareciera que Linkin Park entrarían en esa lista de bandas que desaparecen cuando un gran y único talento no está, pero de manera muy sorpresiva, Mike Shinoda, tenía una idea diferente.

In life I have seen how tragedy breaks into this musical style and is that being a teenager in the 90', was at that time or at a time later, see as musicians who admired succumb to vices or inner demons, which put an end to each of their lives and what it did in me was to generate unknowns such as wondering "What music would I do at this time?" Or statements like "No one will sing like he did"; are things that repeated several times and with the death of Chester, it would seem that Linkin Park would enter that list of bands that disappear when a great and unique talent is gone, but in a very surprising way, Mike Shinoda, had a different idea.
Que una banda se proponga mantenerse junta y seguir adelante siguiendo adelante sin uno o varios de sus integrantes icónicos, es algo que anteriormente se ha visto, un ejemplo es Slipknot que con el despido de Joey Jordison, ex baterista, fallecido hace cinco años; sentó un precedente de rechazo entre acérrimos fans de la banda hacia Corey Taylor, líder de esa agrupación y no solo eso, sino que se generó una competencia entre Jordinson y su reemplazo; un sin fin de comparativas que nunca acabaron hasta el momento que quien suplantó a tan mítico y ahora influyente músico, terminó siendo reemplazado; podrán preguntarse “¿A qué viene todo eso?” Y es que con Linkin Park y su nueva vocalista, Emily Armstrong, se generó un rechazo y se crea una competencia y comparación con un cantante que fue no solo un frontman, sino la imagen, marca y brutal voz de una banda por más de diecisiete años y creo que no es para nada justo.
Este es el tercer punto de esta publicación y es que respeto y entiendo cada opinión que puede tener un fan de Linkin Park, los cuales como suceden para fans de otras bandas, se pueden dividir con respecto a qué etapa de la banda se es fiel fan y al que creo que es es un fiel seguidor de los dos primeros álbumes, seguramente tendrás problema con la elección de Emily. Personalmente, no soy un fiel seguidor de LP, solamente tengo dos canciones como favoritas las cuales son “In the End“” del álbum “Hybrid Theory” (2000) y “Somewhere I Belong” de “Meteora” (2003), puedo disfrutar otras más, pero al final todas son parte de los dos primeros álbumes; ahora al momento de anunciar su nueva vocalista, sentí intriga porque puede ofrecer y ese interés, muy personal es que apreció a la “nueva ola” de vocalistas femeninas en el rock, ya que creo que pueden ser más pasionales que un hombre en su interpretación y por eso me pareció correcto la elección así como el anunció de un nuevo álbum lo cual creo que es muy necesario y de gran ayuda para Emily que podrá de manera rápida implementar su marca en la historia de la banda.

Personally, I am not a loyal LP fan, I only have two songs as favorites which are "In the End" from the album "Hybrid Theory" (2000) and "Somewhere I Belong" from "Meteora" (2003), I may enjoy others, but in the end they are all part of the first two albums; now at the moment of announcing their new vocalist, I felt intrigue because she can offer and that interest, very personal is that I appreciated the "new wave" of female vocalists in rock, as I think they can be more passionate than a man in their interpretation and that's why I thought the choice was right as well as the announcement of a new album which I think is very necessary and of great help for Emily who will be able to quickly implement their mark in the history of the band.
Ahora mientras se espera al 15 de noviembre de este año, fecha la cual será el lanzamiento del nuevo álbum de Linkin Park, llamado "From Zero"; la banda junto a Emily seguirá estando a prueba en cada presentación en vivo que deban realizar, esto cantando temas icónicos de la banda y por supuesto el nuevo single, “The Emptiness Machine” el cual considero que es un muy buen tema para el regreso de la banda, ya que justamente me hizo recordar la música hecha en “Meteora” y lo cual me crea expectativas sobre si ese será la tónica a seguir en el nuevo álbum. Repito que respeto cada opinión, sean fan o no de la banda, en realidad respecto las críticas constructivas, respeto las comparaciones y hasta que digan que Emily nunca será como Chester lo cual es imposible porque una fue una voz única y admirable, pero todavía no podemos enterrar a alguien que apenas tiene una semana en la opinión pública y que ahora es parte de una banda que tiene la oportunidad de seguir adelante.
