Fue un hombre que se dedico a la enseñanza, en varias escuelas de ese estado. Tenia gran vocación para la tarea de enseñar. Utilizaba la música como un escape para calmar la ansiedad. A pesar de no haber estudiado música a fondo, compuso varias canciones y valses venezolanos como Crepúsculo Coriano y la canción que hoy les traigo a ustedes.
Sombra en los médanos is a song composed by Rafael Sánchez López, who was born precisely in Coro, Falcón state, Venezuela. He was a man who dedicated himself to teaching in several schools in that state. He had a great vocation for teaching. He used music as an escape to calm anxiety. In spite of not having studied music in depth, he composed several Venezuelan songs and waltzes such as Crepúsculo Coriano and the song that I bring to you today.

Sombra en los médanos is a tribute of this great master to that city that hopefully if you are in Venezuela, or someday visit it, you will know such a beautiful landscape. It is as if we were for a moment in a desert but with a beautiful sand that provokes contemplation.
