Aprovechando la ocasión del cumpleaños número 82 del señor Bob Dylan, ocurrida el miércoles 24 de mayo de la semana pasada, quise seleccionar tres canciones que reflejan la habilidad de cuentacuentos de uno de los más grandes letristas de la historia de la música para el #ThreeTuneTuesday de hoy.
Después de haberle incluido en el Three Tune Tuesday del pasado martes, cuando escogí a Forever Young como parte de las canciones que hablaban sobre el hecho de envejecer, vuelvo a Dylan dado el inmenso talento lirico que lo ha hecho merecedor de diversos premios y galardones, donde se incluye el Nobel de literatura otorgado en 2016.
Por esta razón he decidido traerles tres tracks que resaltan el carácter más narrativo de Dylan con temas que desarrollan historias cortas que van desde las andanzas de dos amantes de una noche, las vicisitudes de pareja, y una parábola que refleja la traición y la posibilidad de redención de un hombre.
Las tres son Simple twist of fate, Tangled up in blue, y The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas priest, publicadas en sus discos Blood on the Tracks (1975) y John Wesley Harding (1967) respectivamente.
Así que, sin más demoras, aquí están estas tres historias para el Three Tune Tuesday de esta semana -creado por @ablaze- que ponen de manifiesto la importancia de Bob Dylan como el escritor que hizo ampliar las posibilidades de la música popular estadounidense y mundial.
Segunda canción del álbum Blood on the tracks, que cuenta la historia de un one night stand, donde Dylan refleja de forma precisa el carácter inesperado de ese tipo de experiencias, que dada su condición de evento coincidencial, pareciera no estar destinado a concretarse de nuevo.
En ella también se percibe cierto sentimiento anhelo y melancolía luego de concretado el hecho, y después de que el personaje principal de la historia se siente vacío y abandonado en su cuarto de hotel al despertarse solo al día siguiente.
Esta es la canción con la que abre el álbum Blood on the tracks. Alabada por la crítica y el público en general por su letra e interpretación, relata de forma vivida, a través de varios episodios, las dificultades por las que pasa una pareja desde sus inicios y hasta que llega el inevitable distanciamiento.
En este track, Dylan usa de forma cabal y consistente fuertes metáforas que cimientan decididamente esta historia de volatilidad.
Incluida en su disco John Wesley Harding, su letra se refiere a un hombre que pide dinero prestado a otro, para terminar perdiéndolo todo al cabo de 16 días en un burdel, y morir en los brazos de quien le realizo el préstamo.
Durante mucho tiempo se ha especulado que la canción en realidad trata las experiencias del propio Dylan con su antiguo manager Albert Grossman mientras negociaban la firma del contrato con su disquera.

Second song of the album Blood on the tracks, which tells the story of a one night stand, where Dylan accurately reflects the unexpected character of this kind of experiences, which given its condition of coincidental event, seems not to be destined to happen again.
There is also a certain sense of longing and melancholy after the event, and after the main character of the story feels empty and abandoned in his hotel room when he wakes up alone the next day.
