«Should they keep it on display or redecorate?» Twenty One Pilots - Redecorate
Twenty One Pilots es una banda importante para mi. Durante muchos años sus canciones me acompañaron en mis peores momentos, y me dieron fuerzas para seguir buscando un camino que recorrer. Me incentivaron a buscar la luz al final del túnel.
Durante muchos años lloré al ritmo de Truce, ansiando lograr esa tregua entre mi mismo con mis sentimientos.
Muchas veces escuché Vessel durante ataques de pánico en donde solo podía pensar en quitarme la vida.
Y en incontables ocasiones Blurryface me hizo recordar que no estaba solo, y que nunca lo estaré.
Sonará dramático, pero esta es una banda que genuinamente salvó mi vida, y estoy seguro de que ha salvado la de muchas personas. Ellos son esa clase de banda que logra conectar con sus fans, y mediante un acto de compasión absoluto, apoyarlos para salir de un hoyo muy profundo.
Twenty One Pilots is an important band for me. For many years their songs accompanied me in my worst moments, and gave me strength to keep looking for a path to follow. They encouraged me to look for the light at the end of the tunnel.
For many years I cried to the rhythm of Truce, longing for that truce between myself and my feelings.
Many times I listened to Vessel during panic attacks where I could only think of killing myself.
And countless times Blurryface reminded me that I was not alone, and that I never will be.
It will sound dramatic, but this is a band that genuinely saved my life, and I'm sure has saved many people's lives. They are that kind of band that manages to connect with their fans, and through an act of absolute compassion, support them out of a very deep hole.
Luego de ponerlos en contexto de lo que siento por esta banda, creo que es momento de empezar a hablar de su más reciente álbum: Scaled and Icy.
After putting all of you on context about my feelings for this band, I think it is time to start talking about their newest album: Scaled and Icy.
Empezaré por decir que Shy Away y Redecorate son canciones muy buenas que me parecen pegajosas a su modo.
Shy Away es una canción que apunta mucho al estilo del Post-punk con el sonido de esa batería monótona y natural, y el bajo predominando en la canción. Además de esto, el coro es pegajoso, y la canción en si me parece muy memorable.
Redecorate me pareció un muy buen closer. La canción te envuelve en su aura con esos sintetizadores que crean espacio, y los riffs simples que se repiten ocasionalmente.
El track es muy disfrutable, y siento que los muchachos le pusieron mucho cariño.
I'll start saying that Shy Away and Redecorate are very good songs that I find catchy in their own way.
Shy Away is a song that points a lot to the Post-punk style with the sound of those monotonous and natural drums, and the bass predominating the song. In addition to this, the chorus is catchy, and the song itself seems very memorable to me.
Redecorate seemed to me a very good closer. The song envelops you in its aura with those space-creating synths, and the simple riffs that are occasionally repeated.
The track is very enjoyable, and I feel like the guys put a lot of love into it.
Pero, aquí empiezan mis problemas con este álbum, y es que el resto de canciones me parecieron increíblemente repetitivas, aburridas, y hechas sin ganas.
Este álbum ha sido para mi la cosa más decepcionante de todo el año.
Tyler y Josh se han acomodado para la producción de este álbum, y han hecho algo que sabían gustaría a los fans, pero que se siente como una versión diluida de cosas que ya han hecho antes. Y eso me dio cierta tristeza.
Un ejemplo de lo que hablo es Bounce Man.
But, this is where my problems with this album begin, and I found the rest of the songs to be incredibly repetitive, boring, and half-heartedly done.
This album has been for me the most disappointing thing all year.
Tyler and Josh have settled in for the production of this album, and made something that they knew fans would like, but that feels like a watered down version of things they've done before. And that made me kind of sad.
An example of what I'm talking about is Bounce Man.
Esta canción me parece insoportable.
Es esa clase de canción alegre que colocan en la radio para subirle los ánimos a las personas.
Ni siquiera es entrañable como otras canciones de este estilo como We Don't Believe What's on TV. Sencillamente es algo que jamás volvería a escuchar por gusto.
I find this song obnoxious.
It's that kind of upbeat song they play on the radio to get people's spirits up.
It's not even endearing like other songs in this style like We Don't Believe What's on TV. It's simply something I'd never listen to again for the fun of it.
Existe cierto momento en donde los artistas se ven en la obligación de re-inventarse, o hacer algo distinto, y es en ese momento en que se decide el futuro de dicho artista. En este caso, han escogido realizar algo en lo cual no se siente el cariño que le han dedicado a álbumes anteriores. De hecho, no sientes nada.
Es muy triste para mi decirlo, pero este no solo es su peor disco, sino que posiblemente sea de los peores discos del año.
There is a certain moment when artists are forced to re-invent themselves, or do something different, and it is at that moment that the future of the artist is decided. In this case, they have chosen to do something in which you don't feel the love that they have dedicated to previous albums. Actually, you don't feel anything.
It is very sad for me to say it, but this is not only their worst album, but possibly one of the worst albums of the year.
