I decided to give a bit more space for underrated polish artists, which aren't any worse from the army of British electronic friends presented in the previous days. Shout out for opening
MATAT PROFESSIONALS
Adam Brocki known as Matat Professionals and Newborn JR is Polish underground electronic music producer. Under those two aliases he is throwing mind-blowing chilling, analogue live-acts and after hours, he is also responsible for 50% of techno duo Private Press claiming a lot of attention in the recent months, long before Covid-19 crisis. Invited twice for Boiler Room, he showed that he can find himself very easily between soft sounds as well as hard, intensive techno constructed live on the machines. I've been introduced to his music through amazing VA - The Beginnings LP, first album of the uprising Warsaw electronic Most Records, sublabel of the most influential Polish hip-hop label PROSTO. "Most" literally means "bridge", which represents connection between rap and electronic music. After more than 20 years of setting standards, rising quality-bar and shaping polish hip-hop music, PROSTO announced shutting down rap label but decided to still continue MOST RECORDS and promoting underrated, quality artists. You can listen below track from MOST001CD, the grand-opening debut of MOST RECORDS from 2016. Tracks like the one below set up direction for the next 4 years and everything ahead. Recommended to listen on the beach, forest, campfire or chilled, friendly environment. Enjoy
Matat Professionals - The Real Boogie Down
MONOLAKE
German electronic music project, initially started in 1995 as a collaboration between Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke. In 1999 Behles left the project to start musical software company Ableton and was replaced by Torsten Pröfrock. Monolake is considered as pioneer of ambient / dub-techno hybrid, showing completely different approach to techno since mid 90's. Multi-layered and rhythmical massive wall of structured sounds for experiencing in the darkness was a complete opposite to the standards pushed by, uprising that time and now legendary clubs in Berlin. I had a pleasure to listen Robert Henke solo live in 2011, nowhere else than on one of my favorite small festivals on the whole planet - UP TO DATE FESTIVAL. Turn up the volume, close your eyes and get lost, carried away into unknown by the waves of Monolake's best album. It will keep your imagination and emotions on the edge, like a well written story.
