Hola, querido hiver.
Mi ciudad favorita, aunque haya otros destinos que me gustaría visitar alguna vez en la vida, es Zaragoza, donde vivo. Me parece que tiene un tamaño ideal, ya que no llega a los 700k habitantes. Es lo suficientemente grande para que cuente con todo tipo de servicios, sobre todo en materia de ocio y cultura, que la hacen atractiva por su variedad de actividades. Pero, al menos de momento, evita los problemas de las grandes urbes como las grandes distancias o la contaminación.
La ciudad de Zaragoza tiene su origen en la romana Caesaraugusta. Fue fundada hace más de veinte siglos y la historia rezuma por cada una de las calles de su Casco Histórico. Por esas pasaron miembros de todas las culturas: cristianos, musulmanes y judíos convivieron entre sus muros en un crisol que fue la envidia de la península Ibérica.
Encontramos desde restos de un teatro romano muy bien conservado y puesto en valor hasta las dos catedrales que comparten el mayor espacio abierto categorizado como plaza de toda Europa. Me refiero, por supuesto, a la Basílica del Pilar y a la Seo de San Salvador. No me olvido de su Palacio de la Aljafería, los palacios renacentistas como el de La Lonja, el señorial entorno de la plaza de los Sitios y para terminar con los modernos Torre del Agua o Pabellón Puente, construidos con motivo de la Exposición Internacional del Agua celebrada en 2008. Si te gusta la arquitectura, aquí disfrutarás de una muestra representativa de todos los estilos.
Si ver piedras te aburre puedes asistir a numerosos eventos: teatro, exposiciones, desfiles callejeros, festivales de circo, florales, de cine o de canto a capella, será difícil que no encuentres algo que te apetezca.
Uno de los lugares que sorprende al visitante y que te recomiendo visitar si te acercas a Zaragoza, es el Parque Grande-José Antonio Labordeta. Se trata de una enorme extensión verde que conocemos como el pulmón de la ciudad. Tiene rincones con mucho encanto y si subes la escalinata que lleva al Cabezo las vistas son preciosas, como ves en la fotografía de portada.

Mi reflexión
Me encanta el texto de hoy. Cuando eres capaz de mirar con la distancia suficiente los problemas empequeñecen como por arte de magia. Nos creemos el centro del universo y tan solo formamos parte de una mota de polvo que es el planeta que nos acoge.
La mayoría de los asuntos que nos afligen son insignificantes e intrascendentes. Podemos comprobarlo nosotros mismos, recordando algún suceso que en el pasado nos atormentó. ¿Dónde queda ahora aquella pelea infantil? ¿El enfado con el amigo de la secundaria? ¿El novio que nos dejó? ¿Aquel examen que no esperábamos aprobar ni por asomo? ¿Qué significan ahora en tu vida?
Todos pasamos por experiencias dolorosas, es inevitable. Nuestro poder reside en aprender de ellas, sobreponernos y continuar avanzando por la vida añadiendo esa enseñanza a nuestra mochila de herramientas. Con el tiempo cuentas con la ventaja de saber cómo y cuándo usarlas, aceptando lo que está en nuestra mano arreglar y dejando ir lo que no.

My favourite city, although there are other destinations I would like to visit sometime in my life, is Zaragoza, where I live. It seems to me to be an ideal size, with less than 700k inhabitants. It is big enough to have all kinds of services, especially in terms of leisure and culture, which make it attractive for its variety of activities. But, at least for the time being, it avoids the problems of big cities, such as long distances and pollution.

One of the places that surprises visitors and that I recommend you visit if you come to Zaragoza is the Big Park-José Antonio Labordeta. It is an enormous green expanse that we know as the city's lung. It has some very charming spots and if you go up the steps that lead to the Cabezo, the views are beautiful, as you can see in the photograph on the cover.

My reflection
I love today's text. When you are able to look with enough distance, problems become smaller as if by magic. We think we are the centre of the universe and we are only part of a speck of dust that is the planet that welcomes us.
Most of the issues that afflict us are insignificant and inconsequential. We can see this for ourselves by recalling some past event that tormented us. Where is it now, that childhood quarrel, the anger with the friend from high school, the boyfriend who dumped us, that exam we never expected to pass? What do they mean in your life now?
We all go through painful experiences, it's inevitable. Our power lies in learning from them, overcoming them and continuing to move forward in life by adding that learning to our toolkit. In time you have the advantage of knowing how and when to use them, accepting what is in our power to fix and letting go of what is not.
