I am so happy your dog returned home. It is a scary feeling when we lose sight of our pets. This is something I learned from a hunter, he said if you are far from home and lose a dog in the woods and you have to leave because of darkness, leave a shirt or jacket on the ground at the last place your dog was at. He said if nothing bad happened to the dog, it would be lying on your shirt when you return, but if close to home, they will likely show back up at home as your dog did.
