calm distraction : August 13 2024

second day of nightwalking, not really complaining, but getting creative on where to walk at is getting slimmer.
with that thought, i originally planned on having the same route as yesterday, it wouldn't hurt i suppose.
but then, in a spur, the plan completely changed.

just like this airplane structure beside my home train station, i flew.
not giving much thought on where to go, letting my legs lead the way, i flew.
there were many shops i wished to go in but i still wondered if i should at night, that would be too embarrassing.
or am i just allowing myself get distracted?

distractions help sometimes, don't you think?
life shouldn't be approached too seriously, don't you also think the same?
going to a public bath would be good if i weren't in nightwalker mode.
at least i now knew where this public bath is located at, and it is not so far away.
i'm still close to home, but this is definitely the first time i went this way.
this public bath seems famous, there were many patrons outside; i wonder what facilities they offer.

as i continue walking, i came to another distraction, shopping.
good thing the shops were now closed.
it would have been harder to continue walking without buying anything, food shops were everywhere.

this shopping district is also famous, so i heard.
i have been here once or twice before when i was new to this area.
i have never been back in ages, this was often featured in my city's must go to places, yanaka ginza.
if the sun were still up, i'm sure the place would look totally different, beaming with hoards of people coming from all directions, getting drowned in their own conversations.

at least i found something open, a capsule shop.
stacks and walls of capsule toy machines were in there.
just so many, i couldn't check each of them fully.
i went out after a single browse through of the shop.
there were people inside too, it was harder to navigate freely.

on the arch above the streets, this caught my eye.
isn't it cute?
i suppose this was a buddha holding a pinwheel, even religious figures know how to enjoy and play.
this was really a reminder of that, to slow down and relax sometimes.
city life tend to move fast, time to slow down and relax.

1000025886.jpg

saw this shop somewhere by the corner, quite cute really.
if i were dressed better, i would have went in.
this goes in my bucket list for now, though i don't really know what they offer.
the location was just sweet and the aesthetics outside look romantic.
it would be another opportunity to slow down for sure.

finally, i passed by ueno pond, yet again.
there were so many people relaxing in this park, benches were filled.
i overheard a woman complaining something to her companion.
i guess this pond has witnessed lots of similar complaints, and might probably have helped settle some of them.
this summer heat sometimes acts as stimulants to be brash.
i guess nature helps heal things, calms minds, and relaxes the soul.

i was walking faster by now, my batteries were about to run out.
yes, quite the opposite of the slow life i have been speaking of.
i happened to cross this road intersection and the tokyo skytree was just so lovely to look at.
it looks like it was just near around the next corner, but i knew it wasn't.
it was just a lovely image, and i had to take a picture.

the night ended with me getting on a familiar path.
no need to continuously check my phone at this point.
i reached home on a calm heart, my knees seemed fine afterall.

as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
