day 2 of snowboarding inno: February 24 2024

day 2 of the overnight snowboarding trip!

had a buffet breakfast as part of the trip. i knew i had to eat much to have more energy for the day's activity. would have liked to eat more if the food were much more tasty but then again beggars can't be choosers, we can only leave reviews.

we also knew that we are on a tight schedule this day: snowboard, lunch, snowboard, onsen dip, return equipment, before heading to the bus at 15:30. i had to make the most of each snowboard run, today is the final day to try out everything that i have learned so far.

before that, i still have to learn to not be afraid of heights. this ski lift gave me chills, not only was it cold but every time it paused it swayed. but look at that view! that is the only thing which kept me sane. it is like a view taken out from a magical book: towering trees on both sides covered with white white snow. feared for my life but in awe of the sight.

and on to the snowboard. it is still not perfect but i know i have improved. it is definitely a step, a great step. last year i was mostly on heel breaks and crashed immediately when i tried to do turns. this year is different. i can finally turn! i guess when you see someone improving, you also strive to improve. i saw my friends made long strides and i just had to improve my self. it is not envy, i was very happy and proud of them. and i just want to be proud of my self, too. their improvement was a confidence push; if they can do it then too shall i (in my own way). and i am damn proud of my self for taking that step.

the view of the course is also a plus. you may have fallen but you have fallen on a scenic view. thanks to my friends for taking this video of me!

everything after the snowboard flashed like a blur. we rushed to the onsen and dipped for a few minutes. i saw some knee bruises, a badge of courage perhaps. then rushed to return the things. then ate some snacks and then finally rode the bus home.

just had to take in more proteins for faster muscle healing.

and some more vegetables for balance.

it was a very successful and enjoyable day in all. we all had fun, i know i did. we may have had bruises but no one got seriously hurt. and that is what is important.

thank you akakura ski park!

take care and stay safe!
