The morning atmosphere was already very different from usual. The seasonal meat market was filled with people coming to buy meugang meat, a traditional Acehnese tradition that has been passed down through generations since ancient times. I also went to the market to buy meat, along with many other residents. The distinctive aroma of fresh meat and the bustling market atmosphere made the morning feel lively and energetic.
After returning home, I enjoyed breakfast with my family, featuring the distinctive taste of meugang meat. This tradition is not just about food, but also a symbol of togetherness and gratitude ahead of the big day. Enjoying meugang meat with a cup of hot coffee in the morning truly created a very comfortable and nostalgic atmosphere.
After breakfast, my activities resumed. I went to clean the garden, which was starting to become overgrown with weeds. The weather was quite hot today, but the work felt light with enthusiasm. Once the garden looked neater, I began planting corn in several sections of the prepared land. Planting corn requires precision to ensure proper spacing and healthy growth.
Time ticked on into the afternoon. After a tiring day of gardening, I sat for a moment, enjoying the natural scenery slowly changing colors as the sun set. The evening sky looked absolutely beautiful, with a golden glow adorning the western horizon. Before the sun completely set, I took a moment to capture the beauty of today's sunset, which felt so calming after a long morning of activities.
Today felt so complete. There were traditions, family togetherness, garden work, and the reward of an incredibly beautiful natural view at the end of the day.
