Happy Hong Kong Establishment Day

Today, July 1st, is Hong Kong Establishment Day and, therefore, is a holiday. It is the 27th anniversary of Hong Kong going back to the motherland, and
It has been celebrated annually since 1 July in Hong Kong, China, since 1997.

Early in the morning, there was a flag raising by the local authorities; also, the local government gave a speech and toast of honour together with the guests.

To celebrate with the citizens, the government allows people to enjoy free rides on buses, light railways, tramways, and designated ferries to commemorate this particular day. Unfortunately, the metro only children below 11 years can get free rides on July 1st.

There are still 23 years remaining in which Hong Kong has the “one country, two systems” principle, making Hong Kong a special administrative region.

Many roads and parks have decorations with Hong Kong and Chinese flags, and I saw some school students practising for July 1st.

Finally, to close this special day celebration at night, there will be a pyrotechnic plus drone display in Victoria Harbour; the time scheduled is 8:00 pm.
