September 27 2020

Today I spent the day mowing grass.

I'm not talking about your average, run-of-the-mill suburban front lawn here.

I'm talking huge, tough, gnarly-looking weeds that audibly laugh when you pull out the line-trimmer.

Most of it was knee-high, so took some doing. A fairly big job you could say.

I still have more to do, but that will have to wait till next weekend, when I can get back Up There.

Up There is a small country town that's located about 200 kilometres north of where I live and work;

Down Here as the locals call it.

Up There, after years of hustle and sacrifice, I've managed to obtain a patch of dirt that I can actually call my own.

It's a real piece of the fabled "something something."

A place where aspirations grow.

You know?

It has a few idiosyncrasies, shall we say.

I'll get to telling the whole story eventually.

But that will have to wait for now.

I'm typing out my activity post you see, and I'm running out of time.

(ed: dammit, I ran out of time...)

This ain't @goingcrossroads!

A backyard

Here's a before shot.

I'll post an after when the job's done.

It was a nice day for being outdoors.

Hope you're doing well out there.
