I'm reporting on while out and about on Saturday, but these are the sacrifices for consistency. I can't miss the opportunity to report on a nearly 20K day. Of course, my Friday action starts at midnight, and we are at North America's top rated club, The Brooklyn Mirage, for one of the world's best producers, David Guetta, and Morten playing a Future Rave set with The Monolith setup behind the DJ booth. It doesn't get much better than that, and with an industry band to help get some refuge from the crowds.
This is one of my favorite pictures in a good while: two men dancing along to the music, one in a Kippah and one in a Keffiyeh. Music brings people together. Nova Festival brought people together. Still sad times in the world. But I hope wiser heads will prevail in the end that is based on understanding and partnership. That has always been the dream and hope. Hatikvah.
But for a few hours into the wee morning, Guetta's timeless dark house remixes of choice dancefloor classics had the crown moving all night! I had a nice spot up on the second floor mezzanine to capture a few choice videos for Moon Lvnding before racking up those steps dancing down in the thick of the GA crowds.
Honest truth is 50% of these steps came before sunrise. It was a slow day at school since I knew I would be proctoring a test off my feet. I helped some of our Multi Language Learners assess their language acquisition over the year to help with next year's planning.
I walked home after school and snuck in some shut eye before strolling back over to Elsewhere for another patio show with ANAME headlining. My timing was perfect, and I pulled up for the sunset set with a great crowd dancing under the near full moon glow until 10pm.
I succumbed to my guilty pleasure of stopping at my favorite Thai restaurant on my way home because the food is just too tasty to pass up. With my partner out of town, I mixed it up with a new entree and got the southern curry ribs. They were fall-over-the-bone juicy with a great amount of flavor and heat!
I ambled home buzzing with that Gemini energy that always comes during this exciting time of spring. I was in bed before midnight and slept soundly after an action-packed 24-hours with two shows at two of the world's Top 100 clubs. Brooklyn is built different. Until next time...
