DuceCrypto's Actifit Report Card: November 18, 2023

Considering the tracker on this app resets at midnight, then let's get going to set the scene. Friday night, I had a show at my favorite club in Brooklyn, and by now, you must know I'm talking about Elsewhere! But the producer/DJ I wanted to see didn't start playing until 1am and would play a three-hour set until close. I was a bit tired, so at 10.45 Friday night, I laid down for a quick nap. Risky choice, but I didn't want to be yawning at the club!

I woke up just a bit before 1 am, got washed and dressed, and by 1.15 am, I was out the door and walked over to the club. I snapped off the cover picture on my walk since the busy commercial street in my neighborhood is already decorated for the holiday season! Here are a few more of the street art on the way there.

There are a few very busy blocks right by the subway station closest to the club, including a few of these very cute and small trailers that sell marijuana products. It is so nice that New York has made marijuana legal, and New York City has really embraced it with renegade shops everywhere! Just look at this little guy!

I got to the club and had a great time dancing to Moon Boots and his bouncy, melodic house music. He is also from Brooklyn, so this is a home show for him -- those are always the best. It is fun to see the DJ comfortable in a familiar venue, and he brought his best stuff to the decks as we danced long into the Saturday morning. I don't think I've shared any pics from inside the club. Take a look at all these cool lights that swirl around the dancefloor, making such a fun environment to dance.

There are so many things that make this particular club my favorite because here in Brooklyn, we are spoiled with so many choices for our nightlife. One thing that is very admirable is their signage to the patron that come in. They lay down some very important rules that everyone deserves to feel safe, and undesirable behavior will not be tolerated. This goes a long way to make sure that Elsewhere always has a diverse and inclusive crowd at the shows! Check out these supportive signs!

Finally, what night would be complete without snapping off a few pictures of some of the memorable stickers that are posted all over the bathrooms. It is always a fun surprise to see some new stickers plastered all over the bathroom walls -- it builds character! 🤣🤣 Now you can enjoy them too, and maybe get a chuckle like I did.

I walked home when the club closed at 4am, and was finally in bed by 7am. I had to do some chatting with TeamPH before getting drowsy enough to go to sleep. This was only just the start of my Saturday!

My partner and I got up around noon, and I made us some sunny-side-up eggs with two slices of delicious sourdough toast. It was so tasty we gobbled it up before I could snap off any pics for my actifit report! Then we gathered all our old clothes for the winter and went to our local vintage store to see if they would give us any credit for the clothing. It was very busy so we left the clothing with them, while we walked to grab a bite to eat.

Since we were in the neighborhood and only two blocks away, I took her to my favorite little Japanese bakery. For those of you following along with my actifit reports, you'd recognize I was talking about Takahashi (we are also quite close to the clubs at this point).

We got their famous beef curry bun, a teriyaki beef musubi piping hot, and a tasty black sesame pudding for dessert. Here is the tasty pic while we were savoring our lunch!

Finally, we walked home through Maria Hernandez Park. What a gorgeous sunny day with temperature in the high 50s F. So perfect for the fall! Another thing that is great for the fall is a lentil soup, so I brewed up a big pot with onions, sweet peppers, parsnips, turnips, and red lentils. We even used 10c of our homemade vegetable stock from scraps we had been saving up in the freezer. It was so delicious, I'll try and remember to take a picture for tomorrow's report. And here we'll end things... for now. But surprise, surprise, Saturday night I would head back to Elsewhere to see British producer/DJ Boys Noize. I didn't need a nap this time, but considering I left the house again after midnight, I'll save that for my Sunday report. You'll just have to return tomorrow to hear how the show went! Cheers to a great weekend everyone!
