A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.
On Friday the clearings are more decisive and finally we enjoyed long periods of intense sunshine. In the picture there is the church of the parish of Santa Maria di Montesanto that is observed when from the metro station 2 homonymous you want to get off towards the city center.
Today I am in Naples again because I have urgent errands to do and once I am done I can dedicate myself to some interesting shots and today I take you with me to show another aesthetic side of Piazza del Gesù Nuovo. In the photo I’m taking the turn for Piazza Monteoliveto and at the bottom there is the wonderful Church of Sant'Anna dei Lombardi that contains the precious frescoes of Vasari of inestimable value and valuable workmanship.
After passing the very dangerous via Monteoliveto I route for the descent of the Trinità maggiore. You have to pay a lot of attention to this crossing because the cars, once had green light after a very long wait start for the ascent of via Monteoliveto at very high speeds.
After a thousand vicissitudes, here I am in Piazza del Gesù Nuovo renovated thanks to the works for the Giro d'Italia 2023 and we focus on the entrance wall of the homonymous Neapolitan church.
As you can see, it looks like a soundproof wall of a recording studio. But, this shielding, in the intentions of the owner of the palace or Roberto Sanseverino prince of Salerno, should have served as a shield against the evil spirits and iatture of evil tongues.
The Prince was a controversial figure, Noble personality of great ingenuity and indomitable defender of the Neapolitan people but also capable of great hits to effect with his phenomenal scientific and chemical knowledge as well as being a patron able to understand the value of works of art. Fearful were the effects of his experiments for a superstitious to the far-fetched Neapolitan people.
In the end it seems that the shielding did not serve the initial purpose as he ended in disgrace. He was a populist and even then such personalities were unpopular with the powers that be. In addition, the palace, once transformed into a church, suffered the blows and destruction of several earthquakes.
In fact, in order not to be mocked, for the uselessness of the shielding, the Prince defended himself claiming that the stones of the church had not been mounted as he had ordered but on the contrary. In practice he had said that instead of rejecting he attracted misfortune.

Finally, a miraculous episode of World War II came to disprove the theory that the wall had been badly constructed. In fact during a bombing to sniff out the treacherous fascist and Nazi soldiers who had hidden in these areas so precious a huge bomb fell on the roof of the Church of Jesus Nuovo without exploding and then being defused was placed on display inside of the church.
After this long visit I took the exit alley of Spaccanapoli to take the subway 1. From the shot I noticed that a couple of girls had posed mockingly but I deleted them in retaliation because of my incredible and unbearable touchiness.
To celebrate my #iamalivechallenge 352 instead of the usual selfie I leave you an overview of the legendary Piazza Dante illuminated by the warm sun rays and this stage Alive ended with the fourth round of the new tour of the city of Naples.
