Today I was on camp with our youth group where I volunteer as an adult leader. The challenge this weekend was to build a structure in the trees, all of the ground, to cook, eat and sleep in.
We found some suitable trees in the forest and then built a structure suspended of the ground using pioneering poles and rope. We covered it using tarpaulin sheets. We used a number of hammocks in the bed room area and built a kitchen.
For finishing touches we had a lot of decorations including decorative lighting.
It took about 6-7 hours to build.
It was a cold night but warm enough in the shelter.
We even uses an old ladder as a draw bridge that we could pull up off the ground.
