It was another really hot day in London today. Actually it was so hot, the London trains were running at reduced speed to mitigate against the risk of buckling lines.
Railway tracks are laid to have a 45 degree centigrade safety range. In the UK the range is set from -10c to 35c as that would normally safely be OK for our seasonal temperature fluctuations.
With global warming, that is now shifting and the temperature today was 37c. Obviously putting pressure on the rail system. As such, London was actually quiet as many people stayed at home.
The office was actually well air-conditioned so more comfortable than staying at home. The walk home was pretty hot though.
