Calling on God in the hard times

Woke up today to a very sad news of little girl shot to death. Her poor mother was unconsollable and I could just imagine what she was going through. I saw people trying so hard to comfort her but she was just in a state of shock and grief. Imagine getting up and preparing your little girl for school and on your way to drop her off she is shot to death. I would not want anybody to go through that ordeal.

Just few weeks ago, it was the case of another single mother whose home caught flames and burned to the ground killing all her six young children. It was so painful watching the poor woman cry her eyes out as 6 caskettes were lined infront of her. The remains of 6 children who were once alive and she found comfort in them. In one day, she lost them all.

This just made me to remember the man job in the bible who lost all he had in one day as well. But in all these, he remained faithful and his faith and love for God did not weaver.I could only pray that God strengthen this poor woman and give her faith and grace like that of Job to bear this loss. No matter how you look at it, no amount of words from whoever will be enough to comfort such a person. It takes divine help them navigate through such a time.

Seeing the case of the lady of today who lost a daughter as well, we can only pray that God strengthens her to go through this. We may go through pain, fire, waters, hardship but he promises to be there with us. He will never leave or forsake us. Many people easily fall into the habit of immediately cursing God, some even shift to the notion of doubting his existence. Never did they doubt when everything was all good but in the midst of trials, we immediately change our stance. He remains God in the good and in the bad times. He is not only God of the good times.

There will be bad times, hard times, trying times but he is still God and knows why he let these things happen. We just need to trust him and remain faithful in all. Like Job said

Even though he slay yet I will still trust him

That should be our response to every trial that we face. We make the enemy know that nothing will separate us from the love of God.
