My Musical Sunday School Sessions - God Tried To Drown Us All Because Of The Human Hybrids

For way too long I have been absorbed by these Sumerian writings that far outdated the Old Testament and seem to have many similarities.

These texts speak of many Gods, a council of Gods just like many other religions did before the Jealous God Yahweh tried to seize supremacy.

This will be my last Session deep diving into these Sumerian texts, next week I will return to Dead Sea Scrolls and other Gnostic Gems.

Last week I showed you crumbs that pointed out that the Elohim called Yahweh the God of Israel, the God that gave Moses the Ten Commandments and grew up to be the one and only god.....might not have been alone.

My Musical Sunday School Sessions - Why Are There So Many Gods In The Bible

I showed you many other Gods, Elohim. or powerful ones mentioned in The Bible but I kept the most important crumb from you.

A crumb so big I am sure that Jesus could break it and feed all his followers.

It relates to the similarities between the Annunaki stories of the Summerian and the stories in the Book of Genesis.

Itยดs the story of the Divine Council.

Let Us Create Man in Our Image

Sumerian Version:
The Anunnaki Pantheon: The Anunnaki are "those who came from the heavens to earth" they were considered God-like in Sumerian mythology. They decided to create humans by mixing clay with the blood of a sacrificed god (in some versions, the god Kingu), giving mankind a divine essence. Humans were created to lighten the workload of the lower deities.

Genesis Account:
Genesis 1:26: The creation of humanity is described with the divine council-like where Elohim (meaning the Powerful Ones) suggests, โ€œLet us make man in our image,โ€ and therefore suggests a deliberative process among divine beings.
In ancient Canaanite and Israelite traditions, the idea of a divine council of heavenly beings surrounding a chief god was prevalent.

Similarity: Both traditions depict a divine assembly or council involved in decision-making about humanity, though the nature and roles of these councils differ.

So Last Week

Last week I already explained that these divine councils of powerful ones were found all over the world. From Japan, India, The Nordics, and South America, to Britain, everywhere we had councils of powerful ones.

They always gathered in places humans could not reach, like Olympus or Walhalla and they always decided and interfered in human affairs as if they were Gods.

They created humans to do the dirty work. But there were times when they had enough of humans and tried to drown them all.

While other Powerful Ones (Elohim) fell in love with their creation and tried to bed them with varying degrees of success.

Both Anunnaki and Elohim tried to drown humanity in a great flood, the story of the flood is often linked to those who wanted to procreate with humans.

The Noah Flood

The idea that the Great Flood in the Bible, as told in the story of Noah, was meant to rid the world of the Nephilim.

They were a group of powerful beings that existed on the Earth before the flood, often referred to as the "sons of God(s)" or rather "Sons of Elohim". Sky people who had children with the "daughters of men."

These children upset the balance because before Nephelim it was the Elohim, then a very long time nothing, and then us, humans.

Now these human-Elohim hybrids disrupted that balance. You can read all about the havoc these halfbreeds caused in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, and later collections of myths such as Apollodorus' Bibliotheca (The Library), Hesiod's Theogony, and Roman works like Ovid's Metamorphoses.

Disrupting The Divine Council

With this new species, the world order changed and that had an impact on the council.
Should these humanized children of Elohim have a seat at the table of the Elohim Council?

We know that only a select few Greek Demi-Gods were allowed on Olympus, but most became kings. The same happened with the Anunnaki, when they left their hybrid offspring was left in charge.

But before they left both the Divine Councils tried to wash away any evidence of their intercourse with mere humans.

The Anunnaki leader Enlil, frustrated with the noise and the chaos caused by humans and human hybrids, decided to create a flood to wipe them out.

However, the god Enki (also one of the Anunnaki) sympathized with humans and warned Atrahasis (a Sumerian equivalent to the Biblical Noah), instructing him to build a boat to survive the flood.

Biblical Perspective on the Flood and the Nephilim

  • Genesis 6:5 then explains that the Earth had become corrupt and filled with violence, which prompted God to bring about the flood to cleanse the world of its wickedness.

"The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, 'I will wipe from the face of the earth."

Now here we have Elohim wanting to destroy all mankind, but at the same time, he is telling Noah.

_cd326069-728a-4b02-b2c5-cf085cfe207d.jpeg

Genesis 6:13: "And Elohim said to Noah, 'The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.'"

However, in Genesis 7:1, the name Yahweh is used when God tells Noah to enter the ark:

Genesis 7:1: "And Yahweh said to Noah, 'Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before me in this generation.'"

In the Anunnaki story, there are clearly two Gods involved one willing to destroy humanity and the other saving humanity.

Where itยดs Yahweh the God of Israel saving Noah's ass, while Elohim might have preferred to destroy all humans.

Popular Belief

I was not able to find written Biblical references that clearly stated that the floods were meant to make an end to the Nepehlim they were meant to end all life. The Gods were not as powerful as they thought because both humans and Nephilim survived.

Eventually, I found the proof I was looking for in:

The Book of Jubilees

Yes, the Book of Jubilees, an ancient Jewish text, suggests that the Flood was intended to cleanse the Earth of the Nephilim.

The Nephilim, due to their wickedness and corruption, are seen as a major reason for the moral degradation of humanity, which led to the Flood.

The book also delves into the idea that these powerful ones rebelled against God's plan by descending to Earth and fathering these giant offspring.

The god they rebelled against was the Elohim Yahweh, the God of Israel.

According to Jubilees, the Flood aimed to restore the natural order and cleanse the world of wickedness.

By removing The Nephelim Yahweh established his role as the jealous, angry God, and by the death of many he might have ensured getting the highest number of followers.

He put the right prophets & kings in place, who would support his claim that he was the only true god and although it took many centuries he drove the people of Israel to move toward monotheism.

He eradicated the need for a Sky Council and was on his way to not only becoming the God of Israel but of all Christians and dropping the national title going from The God of Israel to just The God.

Not The Bikini Bottom Line But The End

Since I found the Anunnaki & the Elohim I figured out that The Book of Genesis seems to be a copypasta of the ancient Summerian stories, in which the Gods were Anunnaki those powerful ones that came from the sky.

They did not have one Jealous God, but a pantheon of Gods, and we found those same Councils of Gods all over the planet. From South America to Japan.

This would explain why Yahweh was initially called the God of Israel. The Elohim and Anunnaki were groups of powerful ones, who divided the earth.

Yahweh called upon his people to see him as the one and only Elohim and not worship any other Elohim. Which only made sense if there were others to worship.

Yahweh had the power to pull off the flood and drown most of his non-believers, he instructed his followers to remove all evidence of other powerful ones and ended up being the last of the Mohicans or Elohim which allowed him to become The One And Only Powerful One in the Book of Genesis.

Disclaimer One: The texts I use for these sessions are real, although like many scholars my ignorance and arrogance might cause me to misinterpret things, or explain things from my limited perspective. I therefore appreciate all critical feedback.

Disclaimer Two: I think everyone has a right to believe, and a right to disagree. I try to take a light philosophical approach and add some humor. If you're offended please check yourself, because being offended by something written by a simpleton as WhyWhy is a signal that you might have bigger issues.
