It seems unbelievable that it's been a year since October when I planned to travel to see my sister. In Nevada. It was quite a process but when I finally arrived I felt a bit of relief and some nerves about the unknown. This picture is from one of the many hikes my sister and I took to get to know the state. Obviously, one of the places to visit was the city of Las Vegas and its many entertainment centres.

Parece mentira que ha pasado un año desde que en el mes de octubre planifique viajar para ir a ver a mi hermana. En Nevada. Fue todo un proceso pero cuando por fin llegué sentí un poco de alivio y algo de nervios por lo desconocido. Esta fotografía pertenece a una de las muchas caminatas que mi hermana y yo realizamos para conocer el estado. Obviamente , uno de los lugares a visitar era la ciudad de Las Vegas y sus muchos centros de entretenimiento.
I remember that almost everywhere in Las Vegas, in various buildings, markets, shops and so on, there was a slot machine or a gambling game. I used to joke with her that there was so much love for it that one day we would even find one of these machines in the bathrooms. The photograph was taken by my sister when we passed by the Bellagio Hotel and I wanted to preserve that moment. I didn't really play on it as gambling is not my thing and I think that during my whole stay, if I played once or twice it was a lot.
It's funny because it may seem like the machines are empty but the locals and other citizens of the country like to travel to this state just to gamble. So it's usually packed with people. We had a friend who was very good at it and it was impressive to see that he always did so well. He said that playing was an act of faith, where to win you just need to relax, enjoy the moment and let it all flow. Maybe that's the secret. Although I don't really agree with this kind of thing as it leads to obsession and gambling addiction. Without further ado, thank you very much for stopping by.
Recuerdo que casi por cualquier rincón de Las Vegas, en varios edificios, mercados, tiendas y demás, había una máquina tragamonedas o algún juego para apostar. Yo bromeaba con ella diciendo que era tanto el amor por ello que incluso en los baños un día de estos nos encontraríamos con una de esas máquinas. La fotografía la tomo mi hermana cuando pasamos por el Hotel Bellagio y yo quería conservar ese momento. En realidad no jugué en ella pues las apuestas no son lo mío y creo que durante toda mi estadía, si jugué una o dos veces fue mucho.
Es gracioso porque puede parecer que las máquinas están vacías pero los lugareños y otros ciudadanos del país, gustan de viajar hasta este estado solo para jugar. Así que suele estar repleto de personas. Nosotras teníamos un amigo que era buenísimo en ello y era impresionante ver que siempre le iba muy bien. Él decía que jugar era un acto de fe, dónde para ganar solo es necesario relajarse, disfrutar el momento y dejar que todo fluya. Quizás ahí está el secreto. Aunque realmente no suelo estar de acuerdo con este tipo de cosas pues conlleva a la obsesión y la ludopatía. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
