This time I wanted to share with you a very nice picture of my dear mother. Arelis Josefina Requena. This photograph is from September 11, 2020, the day she turned 53 years old. At that time, as you can imagine, we were in quarantine in Venezuela due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So during that time, despite the uncertainty that existed, we decided to celebrate her birthday very well. It was also my partner's birthday that month (4 September) and my older sister's (3 September). So those were weeks of great joy, sharing as a family in spite of the situation at that time.

En esta oportunidad quise compartir con ustedes una fotografía muy linda de mi querida madre. Arelis Josefina Requena. Esta fotografía es del 11 de septiembre de 2020, día en el que cumplió 53 años de edad. Para ese momento, como podrán imaginar, estábamos cumpliendo el tiempo de cuarentena en Venezuela por la pandemia del COVID-19. Por lo que durante ese tiempo a pesar de la incertidumbre que existía, decidimos celebrar muy bien el cumpleaños de ella. Justo ese mes también cumplían años mi pareja (el 4 de septiembre) y mi hermanita mayor (el 3 de septiembre). Por lo que fueron semanas de mucha alegría, compartiendo en familia a pesar de la situación de ese momento.
I remember that before the pandemic started (fortunately or by life), my sister (who lived in another state) had just arrived in Valencia to visit my mother, I had arrived from Puerto Ordaz to continue the semester and my partner had also arrived to do some work. So when the quarantine fell, it caught us all in one place. At my mother's house in Valencia. In a way that was a good thing because we were able to manoeuvre things better together. Jobs were scarce so we all helped each other, but beyond that, we had the security of having the whole family under one roof.
My mother's birthday was very nice because we were all the daughters, her son-in-law, my stepfather and my puppy Brandy's puppies had also been born. The house was full of life. We had a good lunch, a proper dinner (as much as we could) and mum was given a cake that was really good. She was delighted with the cake. Oh and because we had cut my hair so she looked very pretty in her pink dress, pearl necklace and pink cake. Finally my friends, family is very important to me and recently mum had another birthday and we couldn't be there like before. But always making an effort to make her feel loved, I think that is also vital. Without further ado, thank you very much for stopping by.
Recuerdo que antes de que comenzara todo esto de la pandemia (por fortuna o por cuestiones de la vida), justo mi hermana (quién vivía en otro estado) había llegado a Valencia para visitar a mi mamá, yo había llegado de Puerto Ordaz para continuar el semestre y mi pareja también habia llegado para hacer unas cuestiones de trabajo. Por lo que cuando cayó la cuarentena, nos agarró a todos en un solo lugar. En casa de mi madre en Valencia. Eso en cierta forma fue algo bueno porque pudimos maniobrar mejor las cosas estando juntos. Los trabajos eran escasos por lo que entre todos nos ayudamos, pero más allá de eso, teníamos la seguridad de tener a toda la familia bajo un mismo techo.
El cumpleaños de mi mamá fue muy lindo porque estábamos todas las hijas, su yerno, mi padrastro y también habían nacido los cachorros de mi perrita Brandy. La casa estaba llena de vida. Hicimos un buen almuerzo, una cena apropiada (según lo que podíamos) y a mamá le regalaron una torta que estaba buenísima. Ella encantada con esa torta. Ah y porque me habíamos cortado el cabello por lo que lució muy linda con su vestido rosa, su collar de perlas y su torta rosada. Finalmente amigos míos, la familia para mí es muy importante y hace poco mamá cumplió años nuevamente y no pudimos estar presentes cómo antes. Pero siempre haciendo un esfuerzo por hacerla sentir querida, creo que es también vital. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
