Esta foto que comparto hoy, data del año 2009, la época donde ya me consideraba una usuaria constante del internet, la comunicación digital y las redes sociales. Les cuento que la imagen no la busqué en mis archivos digitales, sino en mis redes, ya que forma parte de uno de mis primeros álbumes de Facebook, cuando éste estaba recién estrenándose.
Las primeras redes sociales que yo usé, fueron Messenger de Hotmail, y Univisión. En esta última, formaba parte de tres foros; Alejandro Fernández (El Potrillo), Jorge Aravena (Actor peruano – venezolano), a quien conocí en mi adolescencia porque ambos vivíamos en El Tigre, y Michael Jackson. Este portal contaba con los foros donde podíamos interactuar con los artistas y sus seguidores, pero también tenían foros de manualidades, recetas, y detalles digitales que nos enseñaban a construir como banners, etiquetas, tarjetas, etc.
En la red social de Univisión conocí mucha gente linda que hoy en día forman parte importante de mi vida, y estoy hablando de hace 16 años aproximadamente. Luego pasé a Facebook porque Univisión cerró los foros y su red social, y aquí reuní a amigos, familia, compañeros de trabajo, alumnos, y muchas de las amistades que conservé en la red de Univisión.
This photo that I share today, dates from 2009, the time when I already considered myself a constant user of the internet, digital communication and social networks. I tell you that I didn't look for the image in my digital archives, but in my networks, since it is part of one of my first Facebook albums, when it was just being released.
The first social networks I used were Hotmail Messenger and Univision. In the latter, I was part of three forums; Alejandro Fernandez (El Potrillo), Jorge Aravena (Peruvian-Venezuelan actor), whom I met in my adolescence because we both lived in El Tigre, and Michael Jackson. This portal had forums where we could interact with the artists and their followers, but they also had forums for crafts, recipes, and digital details that they taught us to build like banners, labels, cards, etc.
In Univision's social network I met many beautiful people that today are an important part of my life, and I'm talking about 16 years ago. Then I moved to Facebook because Univision closed the forums and its social network, and here I met friends, family, co-workers, students, and many of the friendships that I kept in the Univision network.
En esa misma época mi hermano ya se había ido del país, mi pareja estaba radicada en otro país, y muchos de mis amigos también habían partido. No había un éxodo migratorio como hoy en día, pero ya comenzaban a reflejarse las ausencias.
Por esa razón la mitad de mis días estaban concentrados en un portal digital para mantenerme comunicada con todos ellos, ya que vía telefónica era muy costoso. Y surgió el famoso Skype, un portal por donde podíamos escribir, compartir imágenes y vídeos, conversar y tener video conferencias con nuestros seres queridos.
La foto es de uno de esos días donde me encontraba ya instalada en las noches, con mis audífonos y micrófono, conversando con mi pareja, mis amigos y mi hermano, algo que religiosamente hacía a diario, antes de irme a dormir, y casi todo el fin de semana.
El mundo digital ha sido bastante complejo para la evolución de este planeta, pero nos ha permitido mantener una comunicación constante con los seres que amamos, para no dejar que la ausencia nos afecte demasiado.
At that time my brother had already left the country, my partner was living in another country, and many of my friends had also left. There was no migratory exodus like today, but the absences were already beginning to show.
For that reason, half of my days were focused on a digital portal to keep in touch with all of them, since it was very expensive to communicate by phone. And then came the famous Skype, a portal where we could write, share images and videos, talk and have video conferences with our loved ones.
The photo is from one of those days when I was already installed at night, with my headphones and microphone, talking with my partner, my friends and my brother, something I religiously did every day, before going to sleep, and almost all weekend.
The digital world has been quite complex for the evolution of this planet, but it has allowed us to maintain constant communication with the ones we love, so we don't let the absence affect us too much.
