Saludos a todos. Como cada jueves de recuerdos, aquí les comparto mi participación de hoy, jueves 25 de enero de 2024 en el Concurso de Tbt convocado por nuestro amigo José Lanz, @lanzjoseg, para la comunidad #topfamiliy. De esta hermosa foto lo que puedo decirles para iniciar, es que allí se encuentran reflejadas dos hermosas generaciones; la bisabuela y la bisnieta. Ellas son mi mamá y mi nieta Amy, la hija de mi hijo mayor, una navidad en que estábamos reunidos todos en la casa preparando hallacas y compartiendo buenos momentos.
En ese momento Amy tenía un año, y mi hijo y su esposa vinieron a pasar los días de navidad en El Tigre. Mi mamá fue sobreviviente de cáncer de piel que le afectó gran parte de su rostro y se le tuvo que operar para hacer injertos, para el momento de esa foto se encontraba recuperándose de ese mal, y todavía no había presentado muestras del Alzheimer que luego la fue deteriorando lentamente. A ella le encantaba andar en la casa con sus batitas muy frescas que confeccionaba ella misma porque era una gran costurera.

What I can tell you about this beautiful photo to start with, is that two beautiful generations are reflected there; the great-grandmother and the great-granddaughter. They are my mom and my granddaughter Amy, the daughter of my eldest son, one Christmas when we were all gathered at home preparing hallacas and sharing good times.
At that time Amy was one year old, and my son and his wife came to spend Christmas days in El Tigre. My mother was a survivor of skin cancer that affected a large part of her face and she had to have surgery to make grafts, at the time of that photo she was recovering from that disease, and she had not yet shown signs of Alzheimer's disease that then slowly deteriorated her. She loved to walk around the house in her very fresh little whiskers that she made herself because she was a great seamstress.
Amy no conocía bien a la bisabuela y al principio no se dejaba cargar, y lloraba mucho. Ella no había venido a la ciudad porque éramos mi hija y yo quienes viajábamos a Cumaná siempre, pero después se fue familiarizando con ella y ya no lloraba. Por eso mi hijo quiso capturar esta imagen precisamente para guardarla como uno de nuestros tesoros en el tiempo.
Por cierto, en dos días nuestra princesa está de cumpleaños número 11, y en 6 días mi madre cumple dos años de haber partido al cielo. Me habría encantado que ella viviera para ver crecer a nuestra princesa, mi única nieta y su única bisnieta, cada día está más grande y hermosa. Pero aunque Amy no recuerda estos momentos porque era muy pequeña, y luego partieron del país hace varios años, siempre le hablamos de mamá y le mostramos fotos de esas navidades tan especiales.
Amy did not know her great-grandmother well and at first she did not let herself be carried and cried a lot. She had not come to the city because it was my daughter and I who always traveled to Cumaná, but later she became familiar with her and no longer cried.That is why my son wanted to capture this image precisely to keep it as one of our treasures in time.
By the way, in two days our princess will have her 11th birthday, and in 6 days my mother will be two years since she left for heaven.I would have loved for her to have lived to see our princess grow up, my only granddaughter and her only great-granddaughter, she is getting bigger and more beautiful every day. But even though Amy doesn't remember these moments because she was so little, and then they left the country several years ago, we always talk to her about mom and show her pictures of those special Christmases.
