Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens

Cody Rhodes shocked the world on SmackDown by selecting Kevin Owens as his next challenger. That match will take place at Bash in Berlin on August 31st. Here is the thing, though, there isn't really any big drama or conflict between them. Both dudes are baby faces and the audience love them and that's why this match has very little ratings and anticipation.

WWE legend Booker T called it a "cold match." I get it. Without any big story, the match feels like it came out of nowhere. But sometimes you need those kinds of matches to start something new, said Booker T. Maybe this is just the beginning of a new story between Cody and Owens.

There's always the possibility Owens will turn and the potential for something bad, which could get interesting. Even if that doesn't come to fruition, it'll be enjoyable just to watch them have a good match in Berlin. Not every match needs to have a big storyline. Sometimes it's just about watching two great wrestlers do their thing.

This isn't the first time for Cody, either. He just had that little to no buildup match with AJ Styles earlier this year, and it turned out to be something pretty interesting. So, who knows? Maybe this will be the kick-off to something huge for Cody and Owens.

Kevin Owens does have a history with titles in WWE. He was Universal Champion back in 2016 but that wasn't the best time for him. He never really got to enjoy it the way he wanted and now wants his second opportunity to be champion. It makes the match that more interesting as Owens is going to want to prove that he can still be champion.

On the other hand, Cody is actually riding a nice streak as Undisputed WWE Champion. He's nearing 150 days as champion.

Although things are going really good for him, many believe he isn't the biggest star in WWE currently. So this can turn out to be a big moment for both Cody and Owens, whether you like it that way or not.

We shall see what happens in Berlin.
