This is an original picture of my brother-in-law back in 1987, the year we broke ground on our farm house. We spent the entire summer on the property living in tents and bathing in the river or a shower bag hung in a tree.
We were young and carefree, inviting all who could navigate the mountain roads to visit and stay awhile.
My young brother-in-law Barry was and still is the best carpenter we know. This guy is an artist when it comes to building.
But we all start to giggle every time we peruse the the wall in my dining room. Short gym pants and permed hair, all the rage then.
Starting in 1980, the year we purchase the land, I started collecting photos of of all my family and friends who came to visit. In the beginning, we camped. Really rough with little ones, but we always managed to have a great time.
Brother Barry brought this kite to fly in the fields on the farm with his 3 nephews. What a hit that was.
The 1980's is way behind us, but with a 4x8 sheet of ply wood and some pix, a history was born.

He was 7 then, he's 41 now.
