We recently went by the town of La Clayette in Saone et Loire where we met this magnificent Burgundy castle
....and here are a multitude of views for you ! π
The inside of this castle cannot be visited , it's now a private property belonging to the same family since the 18th century π
but there are apparently guided tours of the exteriors and the outbuildings which allow you to discover the park, the main courtyard, the stables, the orangery, the medieval kitchens of the 14th century and the tower of Paray.

The visits are only in Summer, so we could not go inside, but as it is surrounded by waters (the moats are connected to a beautiful pond of 30 hectares...), we could nevertheless admire it at our discretion from all angles and that's ofc what we did not fail to do...π
I photographed all around so that you can realize the superb architectural diversity of this beautiful ensemble that has survived many centuries
In France we have many castles, the heritage is very well preserved and highlighted, it's a pleasure to be able to contemplate these testimonies of the past !
My favorite views are the ones with the fortified gate π
This one is made up of a square tower pierced by a cart door, to allow loaded carts to pass.
They have a lot to teach us about solidity, durability and beauty of a secular architectureπ
