Ever since I became a member of the guild of Neoxian, I have been trying my level best to live up to my guildmates some of whom, especially @xawi and @reazuliqbal who have been supporting me ever since I started playing.
Playing Splinterlands Quidditch
to catch the snitch
where 'decs' are the gains
and the loot chests may contain
the golden legends
and sometimes the barking spiders for the Doc to complain
The Splinterlands quidditch game contest is a very interesting one and it helps players learn from what others have to share. Like @azircon said about last week's post by @xawi, the way she wrote explaining each and every detail and the tips she gave was very helpful. I always try to read her tips and level up my monsters according to her advice. Others too give advice on the splinterlands server and that is how I leveled up the Failed summoner which has been useful to me ever since.
This week, it is the little league. As all players are aware, the little league is THE HARDEST
One can never be sure about little league because
- there are many monsters to choose from
- less than four mana monsters are sometimes more powerful
- the mana cap often exceeds - ok that was gentle, it far exceeds the number you have in hand
- the giant monsters with their powerful abilities are not available
- and last but not the least, the little league game is like a gamble to me always because I am never sure if I will win
Luckily for me, I got a little league rule set today and decided to write about it. It is not just about the contest. It is about sharing what I know and reading what others know. Two heads are better than one, remember.
Now for the event in pictures

As you can see, I had chosen the Biceratops as the tank, which is exceptionally powerful and also has four life and thorns ability which gives it real strength and so when the opponent used his Cerberus, it was no match and the rest of the team too were no match for the monsters I chose like the Khmer princess (xawis recommendation), the failed summoner, tower griffin and the chicken which is, of course, an extra life.
The opponent chose the Kobold miner, the serpentine spy and Goblin shaman which are exceptional too but in this battle, they were not able to defeat my team because the Khmer princess helped heal the tank, the failed summoner reduced the melee attack of the enemy and also reflected the magic and the tower griffin gave two armor to the teammates and although they were weakened and slowed by the opponent, it did not prevent them from winning the game for me.
To add insult to injury, the opponent summoner does nothing to enhance the team's ability while mine gave a life. Also, it was a no armor ruleset but the Tower griffin helped give two armor and thus protected the team. So, remember to level up this one and include it wherever you can so that it will help the team in a big way.

Tips learned from this battle
- Try to use a heavy hitter with a longer life as tank
- Try to include magic reflect monster
- Try to squeeze in a monster which can help protect you by giving armor
- A tank healer would be just right
- Make sure your back end is also strong
If the mana cap had been higher, the result would have been different because the opponent could have included the ranged goondas like the Spark pixies and fire demon too but to my luck, he chose the Goblin and the miner instead of using a ranged one.
Also, the opponent used a sneak monster in the second position which was a very bad decision.
- Lesson - always include a ranged monster
