Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well and having a good warm time in this winter. But as we all are aware, winter is a very polarizing season. Winter rings your thoughts with warm quilts, hot foods and fresh vegetables, along with year ending vacation. It has been almost everyone's favorite season. But it's not so fun on the other side of the aisle. There are always people who are suffering from the cold. Imagine the people living in the rural areas, where the cold is the thickest. Let alone the homeless guy lying down on the pavement in the next block. Winter doesn't remind of fresh vegetables or warm blankets to them. To them, it's just the shivering cold nights, helpless, in pain. Every year a significant amount of people die or suffer in the cold.
It's very painful to see these people suffering while we enjoy the warmth in our own home. So even though it won't make a world of a difference or it won't help everyone who are suffering, but still we try. So, me and some of my friends have decided to give away some blankets to the needy and poor this winter. Specially we will be focusing on those who sleep on the street during winter nights and have no fixed place to live. As for the cost, each thick blanket will cost approximately 1000 Bangladeshi Taka (8 USD). We will try to give away as many blankets as we possibly can, as it's always more heartwarming to be able to help as much people we can. After all, seeing them have a better day and better night's sleep will help us be at peace as well.
I have previously shared my previous initiatives with Hive Community and your kind contribution had really benefited many people. Additionally, as a secondary objective, we have decided to give away some old clothes from the people who don't need them anymore, to people for whom it will be a world of a difference. These are just small attempts of ours. Trying to live a better life together. Just trying to do what's right, and possibly a very basic human right.
