Alcohol-free Negroni: the perfect drink for your Valentine's

Hello, my dear friends of Hive, lovers of good drinks!

I confess that I was super anxious to make my debut here in this community. So I thought a lot about which recipe to share. I decided that for this first post, I would start with a lot of class, bringing you a recipe for a Negroni, but without alcohol. As today is Valentine's Day, this is a very romantic drink that can be used to impress your date.

Besides being sophisticated, this recipe is super refreshing and in my opinion, this drink is much tastier than the one with alcohol. Remember that, yes, the non-alcoholic Negroni tastes very different from the alcoholic Negroni. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a chance, right?

Get lots of ice and a nice glass, and let's prepare this amazing drink to fill your eyes and open your taste!

The Negroni

Before I go over the ingredients and how to make it, I think it's worth telling you a little bit about the history of the Negroni. For those who don't know, this is a classic drink made of Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Campari bitters, and an orange slice. This drink originated in Italy during the Renaissance, was made to conquer, and eventually won everyone's hearts. No wonder it can be found in most bars and cocktail lounges around the world.

Where exactly the recipe originated is a question that generates controversy among Italians. Some claim that the Negroni appeared in 1860 at Caffe Camparino in Milan. Others say that it originated in Venice at Caffe Casoni and takes the name Negroni after its creator, Count Camillo Negroni.

Regardless of its controversial origin, the Negroni is one of the most popular and loved drinks in bars. Once in a lifetime, at least, it's worth a try.

Ingredients

To make a non-alcoholic Negroni we will use as a base some teas, which will make a blend. I used:

1 ½ tablespoons of hibiscus
1 tablespoon lemon grass
1 tablespoon of stevia
slices of orange
ice to taste

How to prepare

The preparation of this drink is very easy. Basically, you need to make an infusion with the herbs and then put it into ice for a while. The stevia in this recipe is used to sweeten the drink since the hibiscus gives it a bit of a sour taste. However, if you don't have stevia at home, you can substitute it for sugar.

While the drink is cooling, you can prepare the glasses. A great tip is to rub the orange peel around the rim of the glass. This will give it a fragrance and also a special flavor.

Then fill the glass with ice and separate some orange slices. Add the infusion, and voila! A perfect Negroni is made.

It's worth pointing out here that the longer you leave the hibiscus in the infusion, the redder your drink will become. So, if you want it to look very dark, leave the hibiscus infused longer.

How beautiful this drink is, don't you think? Really, I am feeling rich and wonderful, even if the price of the Hive didn't reach to $10.00. But let's wait for the best!
