These days my husband sent me a recipe he saw online. He was intrigued by the fact that the main ingredient was lentils. When I saw the recipe, I was surprised and started investigating. It turns out that this recipe is quite common for many people.
Most people drink it to combat anemia. I noticed that some people prepare it with raw lentils, arguing that this way the lentils don't lose their properties, while others wouldn't dare make this smoothie without cooking the lentils first.
In this recipe, we will cook our lentils. I assure you that you'll be surprised by the flavor, because the lentil taste disappears from this smoothie. Of course, this recipe includes other ingredients that make it delicious and give it that creamy consistency that many of us love.
En estos días mi esposo me pasó una receta que vio por internet, a él le llamo la atención que su ingrediente principal fuese las lentejas, cuando vi la receta me sorprendí y me puse a investigar, resulta que para muchas personas esta receta es bastante común.
La mayoría la toma para combatir la anemia, me di cuenta de que hay personas que la preparan con las lentejas crudas, ellos argumentan que así las lentejas no pierden sus propiedades y hay otros que no se atreverían a preparar este batido si antes no cocinan las lentejas.
En esta receta nosotros si cocinaremos nuestras lentejas, te aseguro que te va a sorprender el sabor, porque el sabor a lentejas desaparece de este batido, por supuesto esta receta lleva otros ingredientes que hace que su sabor sea delicioso y con esa consistencia cremosa que a muchos nos gusta.

-1 cup of pre-cooked lentils (I used three cups of water and one cinnamon stick to cook the lentils).
-400 ml of milk.
-1 banana.
-2 tablespoons of granulated panela (you can use your preferred sweetener).
-1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
-1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Cooking the lentils: The first thing I did was soak them for 8 hours. Then I drained the soaking water, rinsed them very well, and cooked them in enough water to completely cover them. To add a touch of flavor, I added a cinnamon stick. I cooked them until tender, then let them cool to room temperature. Afterward, I drained the cooking water because we'll only be using the lentils.
Cocinando las lentejas: lo primero que hice fue remojarlas por 8 horas, luego les saqué el agua de remojo las lavé muy bien y las lleve a cocinar con suficiente agua que las cubra completamente, y para darle un toque de sabor le puse una rama de canela, cociné hasta que estaban tiernas, dejar enfriar a temperatura ambiente, luego sacamos el agua de la cocción porque solo usaremos las lentejas.
Now, in the blender, add the cooked lentils, the banana, and the milk.
We also add the sweetener, salt, and ground cinnamon.
Blend it really well, we'll get a creamy smoothie!
