Greetings wonderful Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia!
Things were not as usual on Monday because there was a huge storm that took down the local power lines pretty much first thing in the morning.
It's FIERCE out there!
And then we were without for the rest of the day... and then part of the night as well.
Of course this meant that the Hoomans were not able to do their usual work-things and it was very quiet except for the roar of the wind. I spent some time at the window, watching things blowing by... so glad I am a house cat!
Then I got worried because branches and rain beat against the window so hard I thought it would break... so I hid under the table.
I'm not liking this ONE bit! Even from in here...
As the afternoon wore on, we kept waiting for the power to come back one, along with the heat... but nothing happened, and the house started getting colder.
When it started to get dark again around 4:00pm, the Dad-Hooman made a nice fire in the fireplace, and the living room became the warmest spot in the house.
I watched for a while, just to make sure he was doing it properly, and then I did what we cats 🐈 do best: took a nice long nap in the warmest spot in the house: Right in front of the fire!
After a spell, that got a bit too toasty, even for me... so I burrowed under a soft blanket on a nearby chair and napped there.
The fact that I am able to put this on the Curator Cat blog now (with a little help from the Dad-Hooman... still working on the "opposable thumbs" thing) means — of course — that the electricity finally came back on.
However, that didn't happen until 6:15 the following morning, long under we'd all gone to sleep under a big pile of warm covers!
Anyway, that was our "exciting" day yesterday, and we're all very grateful for our modern conveniences of electricity, with its light and warmth! It's all part of the fun of living a bit outside the city in an area with lots and lots of very tall trees.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope your week is going well!

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communties!
If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?
These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Remember, you can also "cross-post" your cat posts to them!
HiveCats by is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday Community by is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.
Cats by (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.
Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the recently formed Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and has quite a bit of cat content!
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
