DIY - The second Pallet shelf is built and joined to the first!

It is time to do another craft post! Hello there! My name is Zak and I am writing to you from a rather windy Cape Town, South Africa!

Because of the way I hoard and collect odds and ends and make sure nothing goes to waste, I have collected a lot of pallet wood. I also got a stack of decent pallets from my friend @therneau.

Because my garage is practically full of stuff, one of the biggest needs I have is more space so a shelf is the first thing I need.

A while ago I made the first pallet shelf so it was time to build another. With the first one I needed to move all the things out of the garage to be able to build it. This time I actually has some space to work in and once I was done with it, there is a lot of space in the garage now! It is really coming together as a proper little workshop! Things can start moving now!

Here was my process:

The biggest time spent was actually to just sand down all the surfaces you might come into contact with. Nothing would be worse than putting something down and coming away with splinters!

The shelf is two pallets cut through at a 3/4 position and then they all slot in together nicely.

I then used some rope to pull the parts together in a squareish fashion while I put the screws in.

I placed one shelf on the other and joined them together using a piece of plywood in each side.

And there we have the final result. I quickly filled this shelf with all manner of things and it is quite sturdy. Now I have plenty space that I can use to do things in.

There are more shelves coming as well as some wooden stock boxes I want to make. I shall post those as I get them done!

Thank you for reading!

Cheers!
