Diy process on how to change a old car seat leather to new

Greetings Diy hub community

How are you all doing in this amazing community? I hope you all are doing pretty good. Today i am very Happ to join the ongoing contest with a team world environment day. Today i am sharing a diy process on how to change a car seat of a car to new.
I am bringing this in this contest because it is actually a recycling post. Before, has i hear when people do that have ideas about seat upholstery, when their car seat spoil we through it away and get a new one.

But someone discover there is a way the can recycle back the old seat to turn new again and this has really help our environment from disposing of old car seat.
About today contest i will create a simple diy process on how to recycling a old car seat to look neat and also turn new instead of getting a new one.

To proceed, i will love to list some things i used in this very project.

  • sewing machine
  • half inches foam
  • star screwdriver
  • scissors
  • pliar
  • new leather
  • gum
  • spanners etc.

Actually this was a car the was dump for almost 2 years, because the car had a little problem in the engine and the part was no way to be fine but now everything has been fix by getting a new engine. He also waited getting a new seat because the old one has been damage but i advice him not to worry about i will build it back.

So i then use my spanners to loose the seat from the car to my shop.

After loosing the seat, i then loose the main seat from the back for easy recycling. This is done with the help of some of my working tools listen above.

I then proceed to the taking of the measurements, with the help of sewing tape, i measure out the vertical and the horizontal length of each joining and then write it done with the help of chalk

I then transfer the measurements to the new leather and then mark them out carefully.

After marking it out, i then use scissors to cut it out following the line i make.

After cutting it out, i then place the cut material on it position and then draw out the shape it it was to get the working pattern.
After getting the pattern, i then place it on a half inches form to make it thick and smooth.

I then scissors to cut the foam out following the shape of the place leather.

I then use a sewing machine to join those pattern to get the new seat cover.

After sewing all the seat covers for the seat, i then clip it to the foam, cover it and then tight it back and here is the outcome of it.

How does it look? Finally i have successfully recycling the old car seat to turn new again and true the world will be proud.

This is my entry for the world environment day contest on diy-hub community.
Thanks everyone
