Hello dear friends, I am here due to the invitation of my dear friend @gaboamc2393 to participate in the Jewelry community initiative about Arbor Day, I found it to be a very beautiful initiative and full of great sensitivity, as it gives us the opportunity to express through our creations respect for the tree and nature. For my participation, I have made a tree carved from pine wood. I have been inspired by the tree of life from Viking mythology, known as the Yggdrasill, a huge tree that represents the union of the 9 worlds, where the father of Everything, Odin rules the destinies from Asgard, the top of the tree. As I mentioned before, I used pine wood, I think it was a metaphor for how the wood that emerged from a tree became the symbol of another tree. Here I briefly explain how the process was step by step. I hope you like it.
Hola queridos amigos, me encuentro aquí por la invitación de mi querido amigo @gaboamc2393 a participar en la iniciativa de la comunidad Jewelry acerca del Día del Árbol, me ha parecido una iniciativa muy hermosa y llena de mucha sensibilidad, pues nos brinda la oportunidad de expresar a través de nuestras creaciones el respeto por el árbol y la naturaleza. Yo he realizado para mi participación, un árbol tallado en madera de pino, me he inspirado en el árbol de la vida de la mitología vikinga, conocido como el Yggdrasill, un enorme árbol que representa la unión de los 9 mundos, donde el padre de todo, Odín rige los destinos desde Asgard, la copa del árbol. Como mencioné antes, utilicé madera de pino, creo que una metáfora de como la madera que surgió de un árbol, llegó a convertirse en el símbolo de otro árbol, aquí explico brevemente como fue el proceso paso a paso, espero les guste.

As I said before, I used pine wood, it belonged to a large wooden strip from which I took a small square measuring 4 centimeters on all sides. This wood is very beautiful apart from the fact that it is also soft to carve, however, when you plunge the knife in and remove the wood it usually breaks too much and the line can be ruined, so great care must be taken.
Utilicé como dije antes madera de pino, pertenecía a un listón grande de madera del cual saqué un pequeño cuadro de 4 centímetros por todos sus lados. Esta madera es muy bonita a parte de que también es suave para tallar, sin embargo, al hundir la navaja y sacar la madera esta suele romperse demasiado y puede estropearse el trazo, por lo que se debe tener mucho cuidado.

I made the drawing of the tree, taking the Yggdrasill as a reference, and then I cut the wood only with the tip of the knife, here I only plunged the knife and then with an inclination of 45 degrees, I made a cut and thus it formed little by little each of the parts. I started with the root and stem of the tree and thus left the branches, which were the most difficult part.
Hice el dibujo del árbol, tomando como referencia al Yggdrasill, y luego fui cortando la madera solamente con la punta de la navaja, aquí solo hundía la navaja y luego con una inclinación de 45 grados, hacia un corte y así iba formando poco a poco cada una de las partes. Comencé por la raíz y el tallo del árbol y así dejar las ramas que era la parte con más dificultad.

Then I gradually removed the wood in the space I drew to make the branches. By far something too complicated, and with carving it is always complicated, but here, in all honesty it was already a little difficult because the blade was too big for such small spaces, so I used other improvised tools, like a very small flat screwdriver , which I sharpened and was thus able to extract the wood from the smallest parts.
Luego fuí poco a poco retirando la madera en el espacio que dibujé para hacer las ramas. Por lejos algo demasiado complicado, y con el tallado siempre es complicado, pero aquí, con toda sinceridad ya estaba un poco dificil porque la hoja era demasiado grande para espacios tan pequeños, por lo que usé otras herramientas improvisadas, como un destornillador plano muy pequeño, el cuale le saqué filo y así pude extraer la madera de las partes más pequeñas.

Next, I used a smaller bladed knife to flatten the surface where I removed the wood and at the same time clean some places where it should not have been cut. Then I improvised on a small wooden stick where I placed sandpaper on the tip, this to put it in the most difficult to access places and thus clean the carved places of all impurities. Then I cut the excess corners of the circle and then shaped it better with the knife little by little.
Seguidamente, utilicé una navaja de hoja más pequeña para aplanar la superficie donde retiré la madera y al mismo tiempo hacer limpieza de algunos lugares donde no se debió cortar. Después improvise en un pequeño palo de madera donde en la punta colqué papel de lija, esto para ponerlo en los lugares de más dificil accerso y así limpiar de todas las impurezas los lugares tallados. Después corté las esquinas que sobraban del círculo y luego modelarlo mejor con la navaja poco a poco.

After finishing polishing and giving it a circular shape with a hot soldering iron, I made some stains in the spaces between branches, in order to give it another appearance and so that the shape of the tree could be more noticeable, and also along the contour I passed the tip of the soldering iron so that it will burn After that I gave it two baths of transparent protective varnish and finally I placed the necklace with some decorations.
Después de terminar de pulir y darle forma circular con un cautin caliente hice algunas manchas en los espacios entre ramas, para así darle otro aspecto y que se pudiera notar más la forma del árbol, así también por el contorno pasé la punta del cautín para que se quemara. Luego de eso le di dos baños de barníz protector transpárente y por último coloqué el collar con algunos adornos.
This is how the tree of life was finished, the symbol of the tree is very old and is represented in the first religions of the oldest civilizations, it is incredible how from those centuries so far away from us they already knew the importance of the tree and how it It is important for life, since it was even said that its fruit could give immortality to human beings. Así quedó finalizado el árbol de la vida, el símbolo del árbol es muy antiguo y se encuentra representado en las primeras religiones de las civilizaciones más antiguas, es increíble como desde aquellos siglos tan alejados de nosotros ya ellos sabían la importancia del árbol y como este es importante para la vida, ya que hasta se decía que su fruto podría dar la inmortalidad a los seres humanos.
