The necklace is usually wore on traditional occasion with a traditional attire. Anyone seen in the whole Igbo land putting one this kind of traditional necklace is usually respected especially if the person wear it together with a traditional cloths. Traditional Igbo dress is what makes the necklace valuable.
I don't know if there's any form of honorary thing that's behind the beads used for the putting together of the necklace. I said so because I have watched both men and women putting on the traditional necklace along with a traditional dress. The way they usually walk as kings and queens is admirable. The last time I wore such necklace was the day my sister got married. That day, she did her traditional marriage and every family female member was permitted to wear it. That day, elderly men from our community thanked my sister for promoting Igbo culture.
On the twenty second of this month, a relation gave me and my family and invitation card concerning her traditional marriage coming up this coming Saturday. Since that day of her invitation, forgot to ask her the dress code for the marriage. It was two days ago I later asked her concerning the dress code which she'll want us to wear. It was then she explained we'll be wearing a white traditional necklace on a red traditional dress.
So, this evening I was done with all the things that I'm to do for my family including cooking night food. As I was less busy, I brought the white traditional beads to used to put together the necklace for a relation traditional marriage and I started to put together the necklace. I didn't want to forget to put together the necklace before Saturday because I know that Saturday will be special and I'll be among those that'll be in the kitchen before the main marriage will set.
Materials
Elastic fishing line.
One white pallet wheel bead.
Thirty white coral bead.
To horn bead.
Methods
We'll find a way to bring out the elastic fishing line proposed to put together the necklace. We'll enter the white pallet wheel bead and then push it to be at the middle of the elastic fishing line.
We'll enter one white horn bead to the far line and another one white horn bead to the wife line. It's time for us to start to enter the thirty white coral bead to the elastic fishing line. How we'll do it is for us to enter fifteen of the white coral bead to far line and another fifteen to wide line.
We'll put together the far and wide elastic fishing line together and tie. We'll use anything like razor blade to cut away the areas of the remaining elastic fishing line no longer in use and the traditional necklace we have been hoping for will be ready for wearing on our neck.
