Good day all. Zak here from Cape Town South Africa.
Busy getting my painting station ready. It has been years since I last painted any warhammer miniatures. I have loads of old paints I am fairly certain that most of them are going to be bone dry and useless.
I was given some stuff by my friend Ren to help me get started:
Paint Racks
The brown ones are made of thin boards that have been lasercut, they hold all the Citadel Paints. The black ones were 3D printed and hold Army Painter paints.
I have now packed out all the paints and fitted the stands with all I can. I also stuck in all the Army Painter paints into slots. So I have more racks than I need really. I am going to but the excess ones out of the way for now.
Army Painter paints (online) seem to go for around $3.50 to $3.75 each. They are able to 100% match some of the other paints.
On the left are some old style paint jars you do not even get anymore.
These newer bottles hold a lot more of the paint that will probably be usable. They go for around $4.80 or R90 locally I think. Quite a lot if you have to buy a lot of colors all once. Most of the time, you should build up your collection over time!
I also found some glue, some basic material and some really old Green Stuff. I wonder if the Greenstuff will still work?
Right after a lot of sorting I have put together the following groups:
Left to Right:
First batch on the Left: These guys are bone dry and are beyond any hope of reclamation.
Second batch on the Left: These pots are also dry but have a lot of paint in them. They are water paint so I will add water and at a later stage attempt to do some mechanical mixing.
Third batch from the Left: These guys need just a bit of water and a light stir and should be OK!
Last batch, the one on the Right: This stuff is liquid and ready to use, a lot of inks are in this batch as well!
Well, that was a lot of work sorting all these paints out.
One big thing that is going to bother me right now: What do I paint first/next?
Until next time!
Cheers!
