Warhammer 40k - Unit Review Wheel 3 - Leagues of Votann, Sagitaur

Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!

In this series, I will review one unit at a time, picking them randomly.

So let me spin the wheel and see what I get:

Leagues of Votann - Sagitaur

Right, so the Leagues of Votann, the stunties of the 41st Millenium... this vehicle is their fast attack transport tank. Therefore it is a bit lighter than the Baal Predator that I reviewed in the last review.

While it also has a Toughness of 10, and a 3+ Save it can only sustain 9 Wounds of damage before being destroyed.

It is a fast tank with a 12" Move which is great on a transport vehicle.

Its transportation capacity allows it to transport 6 models which makes it similar to a Space Marine Razorback in its Speed, Capacity and armament.

It can be outfitted weapon-wise one of three ways:

  • HYLas Beam Cannon
This is a rapid shooting Lascannon equivalent with a short range of 24"

  • MATR autocannon
This is a 36" range mid strength gun with anti-Space Marine damage.

  • Sagitaur missile launcher + L7 missile launcher
The one is a dedicated anti-tank missile and the other is a versitile weapon that can either do anti-infantry or anti-light tank.

Personally, I like the HYLas and the double missile options but it really depends on what would be in the rest of the army to decide what weapon is best for this tank.

And then we look at the ability...

Blistering Advance lets you move 12" plus D6" and then still get out of your transport. This is great for either quickly deploying troops to shoot at a target, brining their weapons within range.

Or it can be used to quickly take over or contest an objective on the field!

All in all not a bad unit at all! I have never needed to face one or play one myself, but it would be interesting to see one in reality.

At 115pts, this is a decent transport.
